Initial testing was an epic fail. I went with a standard 56t spur gear and 10t pinion. Lets just say a toddler could out crawl this thing. I've ordered a slate of Kimbrough spur gears from 42-48t to figure out the right gearing. Unfortunately I am horrible at hand calculating gear ratios so this will be trial and error.

I’m unfamiliar with toyzuki stuff, what’s the benefit of this setup vs the vfd?

It's my trust old Traxxas 2659 80mm setup. I run these in literally everything now. The setup has also taken off here locally lol. A friend of mine must have made 15 sets for locals now.

Modded cap with rc4wd rod end
Losi light/ultra light springs
3/16" fuel hose on the shaft
3D cups I made
50-80wt oil depending on the rigs weight

The motor is very low, almost between the links and the front gets a 40% OD. To be fair it was originally released for the Origin prior to the VFD. However, when I picked up the VFD Twin transmission and felt how heavy it was, I knew it wasn't going in my rig.

Perfect, thanks. it's a sweet setup

Traxxas big bores are great. I have run modified sets before . The key seems to be finding the right springs. I have not always found that so easy.

yeah the portal reduction will get you

i havent had a chance to add the pheonix portals to the list,

but this will get you close if you use a trx or axial capra from the list
