Default Mounting Ascender TSL Super Swampers on beadlocks?

Has anyone mounted any of the stock Ascender tires (TSL Super Swampers) to any SSD beadlock wheels? If so, is there something special that needs to be done? I'm having a heck of a time trying to get some stock Ascender tires with CI DW foams mounted on my SSD Assassin beadlock wheels!!

It seems like the bead of the tire is too thick to fit into the groove on the wheel.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I read this and just tried it with the stock Vaterra sponges in the tires. Have to say it mounted up really easily. So unless Vaterra have changed their tire beads it may be the foams making it difficult.

Have the stock foams been trimmed, that you're using? I even tried the stock foams, and still didn't have any luck.
I'm having my issue when I try to install the rear headlock ring. I can't get the tire bead down into the groove between the wheel and clamping ring. It fits in fine on the outer bead, just on the back of the wheel...

If I could make the bead a little slick, that might help it slide into the groove...

Thanks for the help!!!

I bought a Mountain Storm Tire Press from RCC member MountainStorm when he first made them available, because some tires, foams and beadlocks combos can be a real pita to mount. I could have made my own (you can too), but I was short on time, so I bought one of his very well made high quality and really makes mouting any tire so much easier!

I think that I have one mounted up correctly. My handy liquid fabric softener cap to the rescue!!! LOL!! That's my tire mounting tool!!

Looks good, but re-check in the pic on the right side 3 o'clock position is maybe not all the way seated, hard to tell in pic sometimes. That lid helps, but after four wheels and tires, ouch my fingers, etc. lol Those wheels look great! What width hubs are you going with? 225 hubs make stock width on Ascender?

Yeah, I see what your talking about in the first pic. It's glare from the light! LOL!! I re-checked it, and the bead looks fine!

Not sure on hubs yet. I would like to keep it stock width, if possible.

I took another pic of the questionable bead...

It looks like I'll be ok with the SSD hubs that came with the wheels! I just did a test fit on the front, and they fit. The front knuckle is very close to the inner beadlock ring. but it doesn't seem to touch it!

Two wheels down, and two to go....

I think the SSD Assassin's are a nice touch on the Ascender! SSD makes a few other things for the Ascender that I really want!!

Yep, got all 4 done now. I'll get some pics from the front and back later tonight.

I also put all of the little black sticker inserts in the grill. What a pain in the rear that was!! LOL!! It definitely looks better, though!

Sorry, I didn't get pics last night and post them.
Here are some front and rear pics of the SSD Assassin wheels with the SSD hubs that come with the wheels. The pics make it look kinda goofy for some reason!! LOL!!

Yes those stickers were a pita, but it looks great when they are done! I just sat down with some music, a pair of tweezers, good lighting and took my time.

I almost think it would be easier to paint the black in the grill, rather than putting the stickers on!! LOL!!

The pics look better after I uploaded them to RCC. For some reason, they made my Ascender look really goofy looking at them on my phone.

Hahaha, I was going to buy flat black Testors, brush it in, and wipe off until I found the sticker sheet that I had tossed aside lol. It does look good.
