Nice! Welcome to the ascender crowd for sure! First thing, read natedog's build thread. Everything you want to know is there. He's the man. I built my ready to run truck following his many tests and trials and am so happy with my rig. I just went out again this weekend and put my truck everywhere and more that the other guys did with fully custom and big $ rigs. If you have time check out my build thread too. It's titled "my baby blazer" probably on page 2 now of this section. Have fun and don't be shy with the pictures!

Made a few updates before my first real wheelin trip for my rig. Meeting up with a friend who has built us a real nice time trials course to start off with and then off to some other locations near his house for some wheelin. It'll be my vaterra vs an scx10 trail honcho with some mods.

Ditched the floating battery tray setup for a solid front mount tonight.

Also lowered the ride height a little, dropped the body and cut out the flares.

As promised here's some pictures from our little wheeling trip today! The scx10 is running proline tsl super swampers with a lot softer foams, it was also much heavier than my rig and seemed to make a little easier work of some of the obstacles. I was still able to go pretty much everywhere he did I just had to work at it a little bit more.

I might add that we had an absolute BLAST!

What if you are running the proline super swampers?

Then I would use the RC4WD Proline lockrings (blue colored), but I've heard the Vanquish rings work with Proline tires...be a shame to ruin tires though. I can measure the RC4WD and post up, don't have the Proline specific and Vanquish are installed in tires/wheels at the moment.

Can anybody measure the width of the Proline specific rings, Vanquish and RC4WD?

So you have to get the wheels, tires and the rings... Why do you need the rings?

You don't need these extra rings unless you are trying to fit Proline tires to a wheel that isn't designed to accommodate a bead as large as Proline tires have.

It all gets so confusing. I've only bought one set of Proline tires, and if I had known what a pita it was going to be to mount them, I wouldn't have bought them.

I've got to think they would mount fine on Proline wheels. I just didn't see any Proline wheels I liked.

Well after a weekend of racing short course trucks in Omaha Nebraska at the plex, I came home and assembled my newly acquired wheels and tires as well as swapped out the stock servo for one that is a little faster and has a little more torque.

Looks great with white spokes and new tires! That servo is about same as stock, I'd go for 300 oz/in at least.
