Default Project Jeep Nukizer - Vaterra Ascender

This weekend I want to start working on my Vaterra Ascender. I have bought an Axial Jeep Nukizer body and few other things that may come in handy. I'm new in this part of the hobby - I bought my first SCX10 and Vaterra Ascender few months ago and it's time for some upgrades. I'm wondering, how you guys mount scale accessories? I will not use everything from the photo, but it's always good to have some options. I want to drill 2 holes in the tool box and mount it with screws to the body, but I would also like to use this pack from PL that includes high lift jack, pry bar, shovel and axe. I'm sure I would like to avoid glue, so I will be really grateful for any help. Any tips/ideas on how can I mount them will be highly appreciated. I will try to update this thread with new photos as often as I can. Thanks :-)

High-strength magnets, hot glue (removable), hair bands (bungee cords), twist ties, zip ties, velcro... off the top of my head.

Thanks. I used bungee cords to mount the chainsaw and sleeping mats. All the rest is attached with screws.

I found a nice photo of Jeep Nukizer with showel attached to the side of the body and high lift jack on the front. I suppose it is mounted with twist ties or zip ties as you said? I have to buy some zip ties after weekend and test it...

And here is a little update where I am at the moment:

Looking good, now I've had my Mighty FC a while I've been looking at one of these shells, so close to pulling the trigger

Could also build or buy a rack to carry scale stuff in. Looking good so far.

Do it! I know it would look good when you're done detailing it out.

Lookin good! Have you seen where some guys are running plastidip on the inside as a paint color? When you're ready for a change, just peel and re-spray.

Yea, I wanted to order a roof rack but I wasn't sure if it will fit to this body. I didn't find any photo of Jeep Nukizer with a rack, so I didn't buy it in the end

I use plastidip to waterproof servos, escs, receivers, etc... but I never used it to paint the body... I see on google that it looks pretty nice, so I have to try it someday!

Looking good.
Do the tire tuck in there in the back?

The Nukizer is cool.

What color are you planning?

INteresting...thanks! Have to keep coats thin or it will get heavy. I outside paint bodies when I get bored with color and/or they are beat and been repaired many times.

X2, flex pics with body mounted? Pic with suspension fully compressed and body on? Color? How much narrower than Blazer body is this where sliders mount?

tire tuck? Hmm, what do you mean?

I want to paint it with gun metal backed with black.

I didn't have much time today, so I was only able to mount the mirrors, disassemble everything and prepare for painting. Hope to have it painted tomorrow

Tire tuck, in other words we want to see how well the tires fit into the wheel wells when suspension is completely compressed at all four wheels. Also want to see how tires fit into wheel wells when opposite side front and rear tires are compressed.

See picture, no idea who's picture this is and I'm not into ramp travel kings, just want to get idea how the tires line up and fit into the body arches.

Just the pic:

EDIT: Here's a bunch of GearHead RC roof racks:
http://www.rpphobby.com/category_s/543.htm

Nice and compact rack, but RPP Hobby has a bunch to choose from, I've seen them first-hand and they are good quality.

X2, but need to move both bumpers in closer to the body. I'd narrow the rear too.

Very nice. I have been planning on using that body as well. Did you change the wheelbase at all or using the factory blazer length?

Yes, this is definitely on my list. Plus I have to find a way to better attach the rc4wd rubber mirros. I took the truck for the first run and they often falls.
