tbh it aint that big, and it certainly aint heavy. I'm the opposite cant be dealing with pockets full of batteries and having to change them. I noticed last weekend how much difference there was between my 1800 and 2000 especially into 50% of its run time.
My car is not squatting any lower on these. But note I am using mine for crawling.

Just ordered a 4200mah. I'm interested to see how long it takes to charge with the TH charger. I might need to upgrade to something better.

The stock charger will probably take about 3 hrs to charge that 4200. Maybe a little more.

true. Since i'm in NYC and don't own a car to get to run spots I tend to travel light. so less batteries and tools the better.

Anyone know if a 6 cell or 7 cell hump pack will fit . I HATE LIPOs !!!

Re: Battery Upgrade

why you hate lipos? You could prob get one of those tiny 1200mah NIMH packs from the rc18 series to fit

Not even close to fitting. Run time will suck with a NiMh that'll fit.

Think ill try the rc18 pack then if not guess ill suck it up and go to the LiPo . It's just too cool a RC not to buy .

Will a 3 cell hurt it all all?

A three cell nimh or 3s lipo? A 3 cell nimh would probably last a few minutes...just creeping along (OG Tamiya). A 3s lipo would toast the stock esc. Plenty of guys are running 3s, but they have upgraded the electronics and geared accordingly.

Blinkfan5150 03-27-2013 08:52 AM

Holmes Hobby and Horizon support both say a 3 cell lipo will burn stock TH esc

Blinkfan5150 03-28-2013 02:55 PM

I'm upgrading to Holmes Hobby ESC so what 3s lipo we using to substitute for the 4000mAh dynamite? I want a big battery

Im runing a holmes brxl and an old 12t double in mine right now. Im also running the large 3300 2s losi pack for the lcc. Run time with that is about 25 minutes with ample full throttle runs. I did try that setup with a 1300 3s I have for a crawler. It is so crazy i didn't run it long for fear of hitting something and having to replace half the vehicle! 3s is insane with a 12t! later.

Im runing the Dynamite 2s 4000mah . It is the factory battery upgrade and the run time is about 1.5hr of run .

Re: Battery Upgrade

So there are a few people running turnigy 3s lipos. And Turnigy has a few different 2200mAh 3s cells ranging from 20c-60c, costing from under $10 to about $20 a piece.

What are most people's opinions on Turnigy's lipos?
I don't want to deal with a cheap pack that could possibly vent with flame without provocation.

Anyone know of a site where you can narrow search results by battery size dimensions, rather than capacity, charge, and discharge rate? Or does anyone know of some 3s lipo cells that will fit in the stock twin hammers' battery tray?

That's what I'm running. Good run time!

I have a couple of the turnigy nano 4.2's and they work great, the run times are roughly twice that of the standard pack.

Hi! Need yours help!
I'm a greedy noob - ordered TH and a huge LiPo 5200 (140x48x25mm). Can I somehow fit it onboard? Or just to buy something fittable?

It won't fit. And is too heavy anyway.

Try this one. It'll fit the stock battery tray nicely.

Turnigy nano-tech Shorty 4200mah 2S2P 65~130C Hardcase Lipo Pack (ROAR APPROVED)
