Wire loom protector

I got some of this stuff a while back and LOVE it. It keeps stuff looking nice, and protects the wires from harm. I have finally found a source, and wanted to gauge peoples response, before I bring some in to sell. I will sell it for about $2 a foot. This stuff goes along ways. I was able to do a whole trucks wiring with about 2 feet.

EDIT. I found a better source, and can get it to the customer for .50 cents a foot! much better. I thought the price was a bit high too.

Sorry for the blurry pics. I will get better ones soon, and a pic or 2 of a truck done up with it.

Let me know what you guys think. I can have it in and start shipping orders in a matter of a couple days.

It expands to get over stuff. You can heat/melt the ends to keep them from fraying. I like using shrink tubing on the ends.

We use that stuff on our products here at work. I love it. Abrasion protection and helps keep wires organized.

I think it would be ideal to help organize all the servo/rx wires and it would protect those motor wires on MOA rigs. I'd buy some.

id buy some! defnitly keep a rig cleaner in terms of wire arrangements, will it come in multiple widths/diameters?

Chris_The_Battery_Man 09-01-2010 02:53 PM

I can get different sizes. But this size has worked with everything on these trucks. From servo leads to the motor leads. It expands to larger sizes.

I will likely sell it by the foot, with a little shrink tube.

murky123 09-01-2010 02:55 PM

2 dollar a foot? is that including shipping costs ?

Chris_The_Battery_Man 09-01-2010 03:00 PM

No. Especially not to the Netherlands unfortunately.

murky123 09-01-2010 03:03 PM

ok, I asked because it seems a little pricy

rockhugger 09-01-2010 03:10 PM

The question regarding shipping just gave me an idea to entice people to buy this from you, because I know I sure as hell "aint" paying shipping on something like this I know I can get down the street, but I would buy it from you, becausae , well, you're a fellow crawler. "thumbsup"

My idea is just have us "the buyer' send a $2.00 and a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) for each 2 foot piece we want to purchase. That would save your 3% paypal fees and I think an envelope would suffice the weight and dimensions of this.

Thoughts? "thumbsup"

I did a little searching, and couldn't find it anywhere for a good price. What kind of pricing are you seeing it for?

Rockhugger

I think that will complicate things too much. I am not going to be charging 5+ bucks for shipping unless people want to pay more. I never charge more than 2 bucks shipping for my screws. So a guy could get 20 feet and still only pay 2 bucks domestically.

Hey Chris I use this stuff every day at work, If you want to PM me I can give you the website we buy from and you could compare costs. We get it dirt cheap in 45 foot rolls.

JohnRobHolmes 09-01-2010 03:27 PM

Awesome product, use it all the time!

If you got the fire retardant stuff that would be even better for those running lipo setups. I used the fire retardant stuff on my rig and I tested it out on some spare wire I had and it really did help increase the amount of flame exposure needed to get the wire to start melting.

I'll take some"thumbsup"

losikid 09-10-2010 06:22 PM

this looks interesting, i might be using this if i can't find a new place to keep my servo wire out of the shocks or between the links and my motor on my losi, they are always in the way

Narly1 09-10-2010 07:06 PM

I used the same sort of stuff on my FF-4 build.

One "trick" I picked up is that if you want to put heat shrink to finish the ends of the braided sleeving, first wrap the braided sleeving in the general area with tin foil.

You can then shrink the tubing down without melting the braided sleeving. Once you are done pull the foil out for a real clean look.

I'll take 10 ft when ya get some, I use to use it at my last job. You can use a soldering iron to melt the ends of it also, just use a tip you never use, at the old job we used a hot knife (most of the time), but if the hot knife went bad we used the soldering iron.

neillarson 09-10-2010 09:03 PM

I could use 10 feet also. Shoot me a total with shipping and your paypal email.

Gula 09-10-2010 11:59 PM

I'm in the England, so by the time shipping, sales tax and import duty are factored it it'l likely as you say be cheaper to source locally. What is this stuf actaully called as i'm having a mare finding it locally :(
