Hopefully one advantage is the steering throw actually allows for cvds and that the kingpin holes don't oval out. I got in on some of the "other" ones from the orcrc website and I'm unhappy with the material and how quickly it has slopped up my steering. I could drill it out and put a flanged bearing in there, but I'm still not sure if I want to bother if some others will be made available soon.

It's about time! This is the one thing ALL of us NEED. It will improve steering tremendously. Not to mention help keep our CVD's in better working order. Way to be Kevin! Will these be available before Nats? Bring some to Nats? Ryan |

Whats the difference in the 15 dollar ones you posted in the beginning of this thread from the 25 dollar you have on your store? are the ones on your store made stronger to prevent the pin hole enlarging and the tabs from bending. You can put some bearings at the swing pins to help the issues. I like the knuckle notch, good idea. I filed mine down similar to that.

If you guys want some in black, we'll do some in black. But not this batch. Once these are out there for a while and everything is good, we'll do a much higher run of them and we'll have time to get them anodized. We just wanted to get this first batch out asap. The price difference came from both development costs and manufacturing costs. We where hoping to have them for $15 a set. But development has been allot more difficult then originally anticipated. In addition, they cost allot more to make then anticipated. We may have some of these made from different materials to help with the hole wearing issue. But the first test pieces that we have been running for a while are holding up fine. As far as bending the ears, these are very durable and I don't foresee any issues with strength. |

ok i know this may be a stupid question to some but what are the reasons for the clocked axle c ? is to allow for a better pinion angle, more steering and to keep the steering links up higher ? thanks. |

actually it helps everything you just asked.. better pinion angle: you can now get the right angle for clearance . reason being, steering links: these are now angled upward for more clearance so when you have clocked the axle for pinion angle the links arent going to be right off of the ground: and lets not forget that with these axle c's your caster is now back to a neg. setting creating better steering and less of a push. just my 2 cents hope this answers your question. | |
