| Build Problems! Help!!
I am having problems with the assembly of the gearbox and diffs! Gearbox feels if the cogs are out of round ie, seems to have a tight spot when rotating the output shaft by hand. Diffs are very gratey when turning by hand. This appears to be the meshing of the pinion and crown gears. Any suggestions and help appreciated. Regards Lordy |

I know mine was the same way it feels good now after a few hour of running it. I think the 4600kv motor broke the drive train in too!

Mine were also very gritty and rough feeling:-(. After some run time they have broken in a little but are still noisy. I'm planning on ditching the tranny and going to an Axial. The hump on the bottom is a major hang up you are not sliding over anything

I had the same problem. I redid the diffs like 4 times.Make sure to use some grease but not too much. I think the problem is making sure the slotted cross pins for spider gears are aligned correctly. |

When building the Diffs I assemble it but do not tighten all of the 8 bolts completely, then with one of the axles I insert it into the bevel gear, working it back and forth a few times to seat all the spider gears, then I tighten the bolts a little more. I then move that axle back and forth a few more times, making sure things are aligned still....finally I completely tighten everything down completely. This step by step tightening seems to work well. I've done this for three Creepers so far. I tighten those eight bolts in a star pattern too. So far that makes them all buttery smooth, plus it makes my lock/unlocks work well from the get go. --Paul VGI Customer Service |

Thanks guys, I've all the above and it's now a lot smoother. I'm sure with some run in time it will end up okay. Regards Lordy |
