| Creeper VS. wheely king?
Hi! I want to buy and build a low cost crawler. The venom has an unbeatable price But there are many problems too (missing parts, weak materials etc.) The wheely king has exactly the same price. Witch one is the better (strength, material quality)? (I will use a custom chassis and wheel/tire for it. The rest will be stock.) |

go with the creeper. you shouldnt have any problems with it and you'll be happier in the long run...my creeper is awesome.i dont think i would buy a different 1/10 scale crawler.the axial ax10 is niiice too.but out of the box,the creeper out performs

Outta the box a wk is not as good a crawler as the creeper. Also the wk is rtr, so is the crawler king. So it's a bit of an apple/orange thing. Creeper is about 130 shipped now whereas the crawler/wheely king is upwards of 200 from what ive seen. Price/performance leads to the creeper |

Creeper is an out of the box crawler (just add electronics) The WK can be a capable crawler but it needs some reconfig. to work right,(chassis flip, links, wheels/tires, etc) so you will be spending more $$. For $125.00 the creeper cant be beat!! |

Hi! First, thaks for your comments! I know that creeper is ready from the box, WK isnt. But my goal is not this. I will highly modify the one i will buy, so reconfig is not a big deal for me. (Self made CNC chassis + wheels, and other tire) The question is meant for these car's drive system, tranny, shafts, etc. Witch one is the stronger, witch one will last longer?, witch one you suggest? Thank you! |

well the WK has a pretty crappy tranny that wont take much abuse.. The creep tranny is freaking huge but looks like a little better design. IMO there both scrap and I wouldnt use either.. so basically it comes down to the axles and shocks because you say your making the rest.. The creeper has nicer shocks by a long shot.. and axle wise they have more steering and hardened gears I really thing the creep edge's out the WK.. the other bits in the creep are nicer to rod ends metal links ETC.. |

The Wheely King has more aftermarket support in the drivetrain department. http://rcpcrawlers.com/home.php?cat=23 For HD R&Ps you can use hardened steel ones from the RS4. RS4 pinion and ring gear set-up... Some of the Axial Components can also work. You can make some Steel gears for the WK tranny. One major disadvantage of the Wk is the axles are wiiide. Here's a write up on how to narrow them.Wk axles can be made tough but take some work. If you really want to use a WK truck just look for some used Axles and go from there. .................................................. ..... Kit wise the Creeper is superior. For the same price as used Wk axles you can get an entire kit with salvageable parts that hold up. |

You might consider picking up a used set of wheely king axles and going from there. I've seen them in the classifieds here for $50 or $60, grab some upgraded knuckles, c's and cvd's from rpp, hardened gears for an ax-10 make ax10 trans bolt right up, so on and so forth. | |
