Default My Creeper from NewZealand

Hi All

I have had my creeper since 09 now have been bashing the crap out of it with no major issues or breakages (one super glued front c caused by loose axle pin)

being in NZ has its problems with getting supplies and parts for the crawlers so most of my stuff is home made after many hours reading on here ( and a few dumb questions ) have to spend heaps on shipping or deal with very blank looks at local hobby shops when asking for crawler parts . However the up side being heaps of great places to crawl realy close to home.

as it sits
stock tires and rims (weights added to front wheels)
custom homemade delrin links
custom homemade (not well) chassis plates and front battery tray
Orion rush 27 turn motor soon to be an Axial 55 turn
Hitech metal gear servo with behind axle steering
homemade rear axle lockouts (cut down 15mm plumbing pipe)
rooster esc
lipo batteries (mounted on front axle)
stock shocks with hardware store springs

am getting low run times at present but think its due to the 27 turn motor ?? but it crawls pretty good now considering its on stock tyres.

I am however taking the plunge and am talking to RMDW and making an order for some well over due parts Thanks Thomas

Thanks heaps to all those who have posted tips and tricks this is definatly the go to place to make the creeper crawl !!

finally got round to uploading pics enjoy any tips or advice greatly recieved

cheers

Ha Ha yes the inspiration for the chassis plates came straight from this forum.

I used 4 mm ridgid plastic board normaly used as a backing board for electric meter box boards, basicly chose this as it was available and easy the work with with basic tools .

it has turned out fairly good at being long lasting however there is a little amount of flex.

Rig looks great fire. Normally I would say get some different tires but id they are working for you on the terrain you run then more power to ya. Though I think I will still recommend a set of rovers or sedonas. You wont believe the difference it makes. But all in all great rig, and you are gonna love thomas' parts. . . They are phenomenal

sounds good bro, i would recammend a couple of sheets of aluminum. an 1/8 to 3/16in. aluminum plate will give u a riged frame. all ya need really is a steady hand, a dremil, and a couple of metal fills.

Thanks Thomas
it all went together easily only issues being i could not undo the grub screw holding on the old drive shafts at the trans so just squeezed in to the new ones and took a while to sort out link positions but that was worth the effort and easily half the fun of running these trucks.

And Lead you are right the spagetti needs sorting i was just in a rush to get it running lost a few nuts on the first run due to not tightening them in my haste.

cheers
