wanna get a rock crawler

hey everyone im new here.I have been randomly looking through crawlers for a while..I want to get a crawler that looks something like a toyota land cruiser.I would like to not spend more than 300$ for the complete crawler.Id like to do some of the work myself.I need to know wat kind of engine and syspesion system to put on...Any ideas??thank you

thx for all the input guys..so if i were to buy one of these kits wat type of modifications could i do after the kit is assembled??

weight down the wheels with stick on wheel weights. it will make the lowest part of the truck heavier, therfore, making it less likely to roll over. they can be purchased fairly cheap from your local hobby shop and they should be able to show you how to install them as well.

buying the wieghts at a tire shop is much much cheaper

hobby shop 3 1/2 oz = $5 :roll:
tire shop 10 oz = $5 "thumbsup"

and also change out the tamiya plugs for some deans connectors

not a big fan of the bb's or lead shot.
the problem w/ them is they can shift in off camber situations. very unpredicatlabe
another thing about them is that it can get tricky to balance the weight in the wheels if you dont have a good scale or are un willing to count out bb's or lead shot 1 by 1

If you go to a automotive store ask for MAG wheel weights they'll know exactly what your talking about.
