Well finally got my MRC in this past Friday!

Had 18R racing that night though and a busy weekend with a Comp yesterday.

So yesterday was the first day I actually got to run it! And even then I was not the first person to drive it  I let DTP give it a go to help push him over the edge to get one! And it worked he called the lhs right after running it and put a hold on the one they had left! "thumbsup"

For it's first run I only added 1oz. of weight to each front wheel. Did'nt want to over do it and kill the servo.

Ran pretty good with the obvious problem being the stock pack up on top!

We are going to be adding a 1.9 Comp Class next season! So despite thinking I would run it around stock for awhile that changed after I got home from the Comp!

Got started on the free mods, trans flip, lower electronics and mount the shocks to the chassis. Picked up some Axiall 60mm post to brace the chassis. Still need to make some mounting trays for the upper links.

Will be using a Thunder Power 2S 1320mah pack with stock electronics. Stock servo will also stay for now but will most likely be changed out sooner rather then later.

Here's some in and out of box pics :-P

And the mandatory box pic ;-)

Thanks X"thumbsup"

Picked it up after the comp, although it is really for Jayvin. It's staying in the closet untill his B-day. Dave should be ordering me some more.

This little thing is really a blast to drive. It made the almost flat part of the reef lots of fun.

Wow those are really cool photos. Those rocks just look awesome and fun.

You crawling on mars???
Great now I am going to have to watch out for Da' Men in Black :lol:

Thanks X"thumbsup"

No problem Sheldon! Glad I could help you out ;-) Did Jayvin get to try it out yesterday? I think he is going to have a lot of fun with it! Especially when you get yours in! These things are a blast even if I have driven Alan's one longer then mine

Lol!! Thats exactly what I was thinking...look guys its proof of life on mars:mrgreen:

No, but in all seriousness where is that you are crawling?....looks cool!!

That is Ka'ena Point State Park on the Mokule'ia side! Unfortunately the DLNR seems to think that R/C Crawlers are a Danger to the public

ThanX Man! The rocks are a lot of fun and they have so much grip that the stock tires work extremely well here.

lol who needs the billions of dollars mars rovar all they had to do was send up an MRC :-p

I am envious of you this looks like a very fun place to crawl

The secret is out :x My superiors will not be happy :-P

ThanX it is a Great Place to crawl!

Got the electronics tray removed and used the Axial 60mm post as braces and to mount the upper shock mount on the chassis.

Also borrowed and idea from Sprint80's MRC for the upper link mounting plates. Just lexan but ca'ed them in place. Has been working on his for awhile now and I like the cleaner look.

Will be mounting the battery on the front upper link with the Rx on the rear upper link and ESC on the rear axle servo plate.

Need to make the new body mount holes to lower the body. And see if I have an Axial servo plate to use for the future servo upgrade? I know I have some TLT ones but those are plastic so not as kewl! ;-)

Boy, you work fast! Can't wait to see what else you're changing.

Nah I am no Rydefab ;-)

Just had some freetime today :)

Got the body lowered and it is much better looking!

I did find one issue with the shocks mounted the way they are on the chassis now. The front shocks seem to get bound up when I compress the front of the truck down with my hand. When I let go the shocks stay compressed:shock: The back does not do this and when moving the suspension left to right there is no binding. I am going to assume that this won't really be an issue as the front suspension will probably never be compressed like that while being driven.

I think I am done with mods for now? Now it's time to put it to use "thumbsup"

Did'nt like the way the front shocks were acting so changed up the upper shock mounts and moved the braces back to where the body mounts are on the chassis. Picked up some Kyosho set screws so I could screw them into the body post and then into the Axial brace.

Then just had to put the stock upper ball stud in the front hole on the chassis where the braces were and use a 3mm nut to lock them in place.

Shocks are now straight and suspension movement is free again. Will need to limit the shocks some for sure. I was planning on getting some 3Racing MLST shocks but now don't know if they will fit where the shocks are mounted now since they are bigger then the stock shocks.

I have the spacers, what do you use to go through the shocks and thread into the spacer bar? It looks like the hole through the shock is smaller than the threads of the spacer???//:?::?:

Got mine from Sandy Flemings Fast Electrics in Pearl City.

Needed to change the receiver from side to side to front to back. As it was it was hitting the gear cover and stopping the suspension.

That is the stock ball stud for the shocks. It screws right into the Axial brace.
thanks, but as I read on you moved them back inside and put the spacers at the body attachment pins, do they also thread onto those or do I need a longer threaded part?:?:

I used a 3mm x 16mm set screw to screw into the Axial brace and the body post. You will need to drill out the body post hole a little as I think they are only 2.5mm?

Looks good this is going to be great class and lots of fun to boot.

Mahalo's!

I agree I think this will be a great class and a total blast! I do hope that the 1.9 Class rules will help to make it more about the "Fun" of Competition :?:
