First of all I would suggest waiting more than 5 min to repost give people al ittle chance to answer.

Second, if you pinion is spinning, and your spur is not, you stripped out the spur gear, whether you stripped out the teeth or in the middle or the spur gear (where it attaches to the transmission input shaft), You will have to pull the transmission out, and pull the gear off to figure that one out.

The pinion gear moves but the spur gear doesn't? Which AX10 do you have, the ARTR?

try, lookin at your gear mesh, and see if one of your motor mount screws came loose.

thats my guess as to why it works in reverse, and not forward

re-setup your gear mesh and tighten up those motor screws

"thumbsup"good luck

sorry for postin so much

i have the reg ax-10 and the pinion gear set screw is tight i guess i will have to take it apart

Once you fix the problem be shure to instal a slipper clutch. The clutch will save your gears if you ever bind.

gear mesh???? how close the gears are together and if there together good????

you want enough clearance to be able to slide a peice if paper between pinion and spur. (strip of paper should come out looking like an acordian). keep in mind that the plasic gear may not be perfect. so check the full circumference of the spur gear for clearance, and set it to where the gear is the tightest.

a slipper is for noobs... if your truck is seroiusly bound up and you hit the throttle, you deserve to loose a gear :-P

let us know when you figured out the culprit "thumbsup"

You said it still works in reverse ?? Tighten your mesh some because the stock motor plate will flex some in forward and let the mesh spread out and this will cause the problem you are describing "thumbsup" Just loosen you motor and get the mesh right and tighten it back down if it didn't strip any teeth on the spur ..

i just took the tranny apart and the three screws that are on the biggest gear with the drive shaft on it were all loose all gears look fine not stripped.., gonn a put it back together and see if it still does it

I'd look into a DNA RC HD motor plate first instead of an alu spur.

i agree. aluminum spur can still strip or chip if a small rock ir even sand gets in the teeth. motor plate is a better first investment.

i ditched my AX-trans a while ago so i dont suffer from weak motor plate:-P

Stripped 2 spurs with a puller.

Replaced plate with DNA plate - no more stripped spurs.

Oh and I am running a clutch but guess what - I have never broke a thing.
