Hey guys, curious to know what you guys think is the best free video editing program? I have alot of video to edit from my clubs comps.

I just used Windows Movie Maker, but could someone help me with getting my file size down? Its nearly 200MB for a 12 minute movie.

Other than the audio I got the Crawlapalooza 2008 Scale Run finished. "thumbsup" Gotta work on the comp video next.

did you just answer yer own thread :?:  ....or add to it "thumbsup" ..................bob

....

The reason I asked was because I couldn't get Windows Movie Maker to work worth a crap, every time I pressed "Capture Video" it would crash, then I found out I didn't have the camera plugged in:lol::roll:

It should give you a option after you click on publish to this computer to chose size."thumbsup"

Alright thanks. Now for the Competition video I used Ulead Studio 9, and I can't seem to get the file size down, its 774mb right now, and that's a good bit down from where it was, 3.71GB. Anyone know how I can get it smaller?

re-encode it with a decent codec, like divx, xvid, wmp etc. changeing the res/output size will help too but usualy i try and get it as small as possible without changeing the size first.

check out www.doom9.net for info/guides on compression and how to use different types of programs.
