Ive been looking around your site, and searching the vendors section, but i cant find any detailed specs on any of your motors. Do you have charts or anything on them posted somewhere listing the output numbers? Im interested in the crawler motors, the specs on the faster stuff from Castle and Fegiao are already available elsewhere.

Mainly interested in:
Power output
Current draw (hopefully at least at no load / average load)
Torque vs RPM curve
Peak Efficiency
Also curious on what springs you use and if you adjust brush tension before you sell them.

It would be nice to be able to compare your motors to some others out there.

John,

Do you have any updates on when the Berg pinions will be done? I have on order 2 of the 8 tooth pinions. Thanks

I should have had them by now, I was told they were shipping early next week. Time to call again and see what the hold up is this time... What a mess on these pinions.

I'm running a AX10 with a dig and a novak rooster 55t motor .I would like to up grade . What would you sugest & do you have a price list

All of my prices are listed on my website. The first think you could upgrade would be your voltage. A two cell or three cell lipo would really give you some good punch. I know the rooster isn't rated for a three cell, but guys have run it with an external BEC. More voltage is a great place to start at any rate.

i'm looking for wheelspeed and runtime. i have a axial artr with mip driveshafts, flm chassis, stock tranny, axles running 7cell 1500 nmh front and backup 6cell 2200 nmh. what would you suggest for motor, esc and batts. thanks.

I am big on lipos. I would run a 45t motor on 3s 2200 lipo with a tekin FXR or sidewinder ESC.

Just ordered some items including a hyperion duo 2 charger! Thank you for answering all my questions, cant wait to get my items john. BTW do you have any discount coupons currently?

I think the ESC coupon may still have a few redeemings left. Thanks for the order!

Hey JRH, can you check on shipping status on order #2975, placed on 2/12 please. thanks

Packaged up over the weekend, but shipping doesn't run until tomorrow. You should have it by the weekend!

I am looking at the Hyperion 0606i charger on your site, will a 6A 12v power suplly be enough for this charger or will I need to get a higher amp power supply. Also what do I need to order to make this charger good to go? Thanks.

6a will cut it. You need 50 watts to get full capacity from the charger. Pick up a balancing multi tap for whatever brand batteries you have and you will be ready to go! Extra bullet plugs and wire is always nice to make different charging harnesses with too.

Is there a specific motor you are interested in? My brushed motors use 15 ounce springs, and the rest is totally dependent on the motor. Power is dependent on batteries, current draw depends on voltage and load, etc...

Torque vs RPM curve for a permanent magnet motor is always a linear and opposite relationship.

If you want a motor for a certain vehicle I can help you there, but a rough and ready estimation is that a heavier motor has more power.

I was just seeing if you had any actual numbers for any of your motors. Im used to buying motors that come with specs. (like the dyno sheets on nice stock motors / hand wound mods) I cant find anything like that on your motors, so there is no way to compare their output to any other motor other than trial and error. I would have figured you would do testing on your motors and provide output specs.

Statements like "Torque vs RPM curve for a permanent magnet is always linear and opposite relationship" make sense but that doesnt actually give the consumer any information. How much torque does the motor make and at what RPM does it make it at? Graphs of the actual output data would be very usefull in selecting a motor to purchase.

On the current draw, i understand that its dependent on voltage and load, but even cheap brushless motors have aprox. current ratings on them (continuous / burst) so you can determine which ESC to use. But your motors dont have any information on even aprox. what they draw, so other than trial and error, or home testing, there would be no way to determine if a particular ESC could handle a certain motor or 2 motors or what. (even though most ESCs can take low draw crawler motors, people might be using little ESCs)

But by your reply, im assuming you dont do any dyno testing on your motors. So do you have any specs, like even from the factory?

I get dyno tests done on my handwound motors, but even then the numbers don't help much to compare against another wind- only similar winds. The big problem is that most toy motor dynos are built for 27 to 10t motors, and don't know how to act on something so slow. As an example, the last 35 turn motor came back with an efficiency of 135%. Should I trust the other numbers?

My testing involves tempuratures, and seat of the pants feel for the most part. I also have a data logger when I need to get hard info on what a battery or motor will do.

I pay more attention to the construction of the motor, the lamination thickness, the pole/slot ratio, magnet grade, airgap, and such. I make recommendations for ESCs either on the motor page or whenever they are needed. The biggest problem with giving amp draw figures is that I cannot predict the gearing and throttle finger of the user. While I may never get more than 35a from a Crawlmaster on 3s lipo, some guys may pull 80a from it in a burst. I don't have a real dyno to do testing with, but I sure wish that I did.

Efficiency, I don't even go there without a dyno of my own to actually test parameters. I can give you Io on some motors if you want however.

Yesterday I made an order for a revolver. I hit send money order as payment method by mistake, and Id like to pay with paypal... What steps do I need to take to do this?

Thanks

send the amount due to

[[paypal]} ((at)) Holmeshobbies.com

of course take out that funky formatting, I wrote it that way so crawlers won't snag it and send me junk.

Can I get a status on Order #2949?

I received the tracking info, but it still says "Electronic Shipping Info Received"

I ordered this on the 7th, expecting I would have it by now. I need the balancer for this weekend.

Thanks,

Mike

John,

I received your torquemaster mini in the mail today. I mounted the motor in the MRC and during its first run, it moved less than 2 inches and stopped. I had voltage at the motor and still the shaft wasn't turning. I removed the motor, spun the shaft and it repeated the same thing. After a few times of rotating the shaft, the motor worked properly and I re-installed. So far, there hasn't been any trouble. Have you dealt with anyone who has experienced this? Is there anything I should be worried about?

It should be there by now, maybe lost in limbo. I don't have any more info on it either, but I can check the PO to see if they know any more about it.

Sounds like a hung brush. During packaging and shipping sometimes the brush lead gets pushed down. Make sure that the brushes are free moving.

Hey John how can I contact you privately? Thanks

I will take care of it ;)

Hey JRH, can you check on shipping status on order #2891, placed on 1/26 please. thanks

I get nothing from the tracking info. It shipped out long enough ago that you should have gotten it. If it doesn't come in a few more days hit me up and I will resend a package for you.

Nothing today :-( I know it only takes a few days to get things from you too ;-)

thanks

hey JRH, still nothing and never got an email response?? :-( Ordered on 1/26 and its 2/18???:roll:

Hey John,

I had some questions about the TorqueMaster BR ESC. I was wondering if this ESC can be programed like the Mamba Micro Pro? I was wondering if the TorqueMaster BR ESC throttle response curve and brake response curve can be adjusted? Is The TorqueMaster BR ok to use in a 2.2 Rig with 3 cell lipo and a 35t motor running a 5955 servo? Will i need a BEC with this ESC? How does the TorqueMaster BR compare to the FXR ESC and the Mamba Micro.

Thanks For your help,

Hey John I purchased your 3s lipo w/ the align plug, now can I use the multi plug that came with the Hyperion EOS 0606i AC/DC? If so please tell me which plug I use. Thanks, Mike

I have a sidewinder in my crawler. I have been using 6cell 2/3a nimh. I just got a 3cell lipo. If I set the lipo cutoff on the sidewinder can i still use the nimh cells without changing my settings. thanks.
