Not sure if this has been discussed here or not, I haven't seen it on RCC yet, but here it is:

  • Comp Claws offer enhanced traction through a multi-edge tread pattern that grips in multiple planes on uneven surfaces
  • A Gription finish offers increased traction over the entire surface of the tire
  • Internal sidewall ribbing adds stability for “side hilling”, while allowing the tire to flex and form over the rocks
  • A stabilizing, external sidewall ring provides consistent “side hilling” traction at multiple angles
  • The 5.2” outside diameter provides increased ground clearance
  • Comp Claws will fit on any 2.2 crawler wheel
  • Memory foam inserts are included for ultimate performance
Comp Claws 2.2 Tires offer enhanced traction due to their multi-edge tread pattern that will grip in multiple planes on uneven surfaces. The tires also feature a Gription finish, which is like having thousands of micro-lugs over the entire surface of the tire.
The Comp Claws feature an internal sidewall ribbing, which adds stability to the tire for "side hilling" while still allowing the tires to flex and form over the rocks. A stabilizing, external sidewall ring provides also provides consistent "side hilling" traction, even at multiple angles. The tires also feature a 5.2" outside diameter, for increased ground clearance.
Comp Claws will fit on any 2.2 crawler wheel, and come with memory foam inserts.

Unfortunately the only info I have is what I posted above, so I'm not sure about the compound. So far ETA is 3/31, hopefully this doesn't get pushed back.

Any word or idea on the compound...

Please for the love of jeepers don't say its white.

They're gonna be in the blue compound.

Dang you guys are good.
The Comp Claws are only available in Blue Compound. So far in testing they have been really good.
As for shipping, I made sure that we would meet the date, look for these to ship to dealers by the end of March (if sooner, I'll post the info here).

I'll be out testing all day today, so I may not be able to answer questions, but Jay Robinette (Rubbaneck), Jake Wright (Del Monte) or Brian Jones (Rockpiledriver) maybe on line to answer as they have helped with testing.

Thanks,
Rich

sheezzzz...sounds like a rough day at the office......:lol:

good to see more and more tire options!!"thumbsup"

Why isnt anyone pushing the 6 inch maximum height allowed in the 2.2 class? Im sorry but it seems to me that after having the clearance of Rovers/Chisels/X-Locks...that a step down in tire size would also be a step backwards. The OG Claws were my first Comp tire and i thought they were awesome, until i ran some of the new BIG tires. The tread looks great, just too short now...

Not everyone likes the really big tires, and in some cases I've seen them get a truck wedged and wadded up in a crack that a truck with regular claws walked right through later.

Options are good, different tires work good for different rocks and trucks."thumbsup"

This is true as i have had it happen to me, BUT i take that as a tradeoff for the better climbing and higher Ground Clearance. It just takes a bit more skill to know not to drive under that rock that is gonna wedge you up."thumbsup"

I've seen them in action and lets just say I'll be buying a set when they are available

Because that tall of a tire is too big for the 12.5" wheelbase, IMO;-)

Great news"thumbsup", these tires work very well guys. With the reinforced sidewalls like the Carvers, the redesigned tread pattern to improve sidehilling while still maintaining the forward bite Claws are known for, plus the slight increase in height, they are a step up from the old Claws8)

Never thought of that, kinda like running a set of 44s on a CJ5.

Yeah i had my Claws grooved that way on the solid lugs. Another Good looking and im sure good performing, tire from Losi. Definitly an improvement. Guess we will see when they are available how they stack up.

Now they need to add these to the 1/10th roller kit since it keeps getting pushed back..Like a prize for having to wait..."thumbsup"

Sweet cant wait to get a set of these i love my claws.
