I was thinking about getting a crawler and was wondering what would crawl better the axial artr or the venom creeper? Both are the basic rtr packages from ckrcs crawlers.

You can't even buy an off-the-shelf dig for the VC, and I've heard a lot of bad stuff about the unlockable diffs, not holding up and what not. Cool lookiung truck but as for reliability you can't beat the Axial.

When the Axial first came out loads of people bad mouthed them because the lockers where weak and so where the drive shafts. There's also wasn't any after market support for them but now there's loads. I'm sure in a few months time there will be a boat load of upgrades for the Venom.
As totally stock trucks the Venom is probably better but once you fit dig to the Axial they would be fairly level.

Personally I would go with the Axial mainly because I don't see locking diffs as a big deal. Once you've got dig fitted you'll get a much smaller turning circle. The diffs are a nice scale feature but I don't think they'll make a big impact at comps.

A friend of mine just got the Venow and it is very nice. I like it. He did have a small (3 foot) fall off his sofa and snapped the stub axle off on the front axle. Not sure if they are weak or if he just had bad luck. We will see.

The Creeper is better out of the box no doubt. Tinker a little and it walks on a mildly built (no dig) Axial. True 4 link, far better steering, better shocks, tranny is super tough (even though its big it works very well). And whoop-ti-dooo no after market.. This sport started with people building their own stuff, why not keep it like that. Go Venom.

I think all you should focus on are the main parts. the rest of the truck will be sitting in your junk parts bin a couple of months. Either trucks. In stock form there isnt sheite worth looking @ but the axles, tranny, shocks, wheels, and maybe links and the hardware. So they are both the same....Unless you want to buy everything asap then go with the axial because every option available is available for the axial now.

I have an axial, well axles and tranny is all thats left from my ARTR kit. This past weekend we had a comp and a guy showed up runnin the Creeper and it was an awesome truck for box stock. The creeper performed really well, even with the driver bein new to crawlin...so my .02 cents is that the Venom Creeper is a better "out-of-the-box crawler than the Axial ARTR. "thumbsup"

What!

I can't understand why we are having this conversation. It's not even close between the two rigs. The smart person would pick the ax 10 ARTR, but if you just like blowing your money on worthless items then buy the other one. It's not worth typing the rig's name. Lets just say some snakes are harmless and this is one of them that no one will take serious:flipoff:

First off, I have driven both on a very technical course, and I own an AX10. Stock for stock, the Creeper is hands down the better vehicle. Yes, lots of after market support for the AX10, but in order to get to the level of the Creeper, you would need to spend quite a bit just to get it up to a stock Creeper capabilities.

Yes, the lockable front and rear diffs may not be as robust as some would like, but that's an awesome feature! Personally, if I wanted it only to be a crawler, I would lock both axles, but having that front diff open when I need it? Priceless.

My friend has an AX10, Rock Force, and Creeper, and after beating on them, we rated the Creeper the best out of the box. Next was the Rock Force, and finally the AX10.

With a few mods to the Rock Force, it exceeded the Creeper in almost every way, but to get the AX10 to the level of a slightly modded Rock Force, took time and money, when I could have began w/ either a Rock Force or Creeper. By slightly modded, I mean a new delrin bottom plate, Eritex narrow wheels, Kyosho dig, Kyosho High Speed gears, and HB Rovers (white). A modded AX10 (my current config), consist of MFM Black Widow chassis, w/ Associated shocks, Eritex wheels, HB Rovers (white), aluminum hubs and knuckles, new front and rear links (MFM delrin links are wimpy), TCS rear 4 link plate, custom made front 4 link plate, and finally chromoly lockers. Like what bigskycrawling said, I only really have the axle and center transmission left over from my AX10 kit. My buddy can regularly keep up with me on our course with the minimum mods he has done to his Rock Force, and a stock Creeper. I'll say it again, stock Creeper.

To each his own, but some of these comments are purely biased and does not provide ANY data to back up their claims. I for one have driven all 3 rather hard, and personally, I would pick the Rock Force over the other 2. That is, until the Losi Crawler comes out.

What!

To those that have time to type short novels the Rock Force was not part of this conversation. Not to be rude trust me, but sells on venoms don't seem to be rising. If things don't change they might discontinue the rig. I'm just saying if I had to buy one right now I would buy the ax10."thumbsup"
