Tanner's Custom Tube Bumpers, Sliders and Shock Hoops! **Lots-O-Pics**

tube bumpers?

Dogman I was wondering if the bupers fit a stock Tamiya hilux frame or do I have to measure the dim and order a custom set?

I like"thumbsup"

Front Bumper Udate

Thank you Gentlemen, it is a true pleasure fabricating this stuff. That's why I have decided to name the company Desert Fabrication or D-Fab

Now on to today's update.

I made a temporary Winch mount to get a visual on what I am going to go for on the tube placement.

And of course I got stuck on which way I wanna go with the tubework. As many of you may know that first tube is always most difficult get set. Everything else on the project is built from that one beginning. So after several hours of thinking and many mental mockups I kinda got a mental image of what I wanted, so I cut a cardboard template of the rough shape of that first main bar.

And Now that I have a pretty good idea of what I want, on to bending that first main bar!! Woohoo finally!!

Man!! Doesn't seem like I got alot done today, but getting that mental picture of what I want was more time consuming than anything else I physically cut and bent.. Oh well, I'm n my way now!!

Comment are welcome, good or bad! bring it on guys!

that bender looks like it does a great job, very smooth and consistent.

cant wait to see what ya do with the front. "thumbsup"

Front Bumper Mid-construction Update

OK a few update shots of some front bumper construction progress..

Obviously, there will be a bit of clean up but loks good in my humble opinion.

Notice I mocked up a front suspension to help keep things in perspective.

I have the winch just sitting in there, I still need to make the mount plate. Will have to get that done but I wanted to be sure the winches placement is correct for the overall look I'm going for

I like this next shot, it shows the size of the bumper and winch comparison ad how well these winches work for this body and bumper. Again in this next shot you can see how I like to finish off the "tubing" ends, its all in the details for me.

And finally a few without the winch in place. I still have a few upper support bars to put in and the stinger on top before I can call it done.

I really like the fairlead boxout here the 2 side verticle bars flair out toward the bottom really turn me on here..

Plenty of room for the winch

Ok guys let me know what you think so far.

Tanner, see anything you want to change so far?? because once I get it cleaned up your done!! lol Also Tanner, would you like to see the stinger to be above the hood line??

it looks great man"thumbsup""thumbsup", and as far as the stinger i think just shy of the hood line"thumbsup"

Thanx guys! I really enjoy it!! Might havta try to make a living from it!! LOL

Sorry for the lack of progress, been sick and haven't made much progress on anythinig lately, but back at hard and strong.

I need some input, I am installing the top stinger and stinger side bars and can't decide if I want to lean the stinger forward a bit or keep it inline with the Fairlead bars.. Here check the pics and you tell me what you think
