That is my understanding. Also there is not much gear reduction, most of the reduction is in the axles.

Yah and all the gearing will be in the axles so if you gear your pinion and spur the torque twist is gonna be huge with say..axial axles.

Think outside the box......there are other ways to reduce final drive at the axles.:idea: And there are other axles than Axail's,althougth I love my Axail's under my GC2.8)

Agreed, I am purchasing at LHS for the $285, but I can get it for $250 shipped, chose to support the LHS.

The service I have received from CKRCCrawlers has been great, better than my closest LHS.

Owning my own shop I know how important it is to support your local stores but like a prior post stated it only goes so far. I constantly "shop" online retailers to make sure that my prices are within reason. If I have a customer come in that shows me that they can buy a product for 10% less than I sell, which is what CKRC is selling the losi for, and they don't have to pay shipping or sales tax I will give them the 10% discount, even though I may not make much on the sale. At least I now have a happy customer that may refer others or come back in the future.

In this global economy we (retailers) have to realize that we no longer just compete with local stores but with everyone across the world. If we won't bend a little for our customers someone else will.

Now I am not saying to only go to the cheapest place or force your lhs to give you the lowest price but it can't hurt to ask, if they say no then you weigh how much you like the store and how much you want to save $$.

Actually what CKRC is doing is quite smart because a dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow, and right now it is all about cash flow to keep things going.

I'm also lucky enough that CKRC is only about 80 miles up the hill so they are kind of local if I needed to actually take something there. Though my lhs wouldn't turn me away because I didn't buy the car from them.

Yea I have mixed feelings about them, I won't post it here though... But as long as you get what you want from them it's all good. You can make some of the people happy all of the time, but you can't make all of the people happy some of the time...

Got mine on the waiting list at my LHS. Excited! I do have one question, I didn't check all 53 pages but is the dig shift on the fly like a berg. I know there are 2 different creatures I'm just hoping you wont have to sit there and wait for a tranny to shift.

Yes, you can shift on the fly.....nothing is locking when in DIG, just disconnecting the front or the rear.

I love that rock... I believe I climbed it, 180'ed using rear dig, and then drove back down that same spot in the vid we shot :shock::shock:
