Soooo..."we" (non-muslims) are the only ones allowed to do that then?

Check your history books "we" have been doing that to them since the middle ages at least

"because of what they had done to Muslims in the past"
He killed someone out of a misplaced and psychotic revenge. Religion was not mentioned. He targeted soldiers, in essence so he is an enemy combatant.

im sorry, what?

I had a brain fart back there, can't I have a moment of incomprehensible babbling?

sure theres a problem with that. just like any other murder with motive. why should this one get more attention than one of non religious origins

Because technically he is a terrorist and commited an act of terror but the media is downplaying it?

if there was compelling evidence to prove that there was i would switch wagons in an instant but till then..
Adamantly believing that something doesn't exist is just as ridiculous as believing that it does...

Religion is a useful thing for people. Everyone in this world cant fully understand and rationalize the answers to all of life's questions....religion helps them out with that.

Personally, I am not really sure what to believe, however, I appreciate those people who believe what they want and not try to force their opinions on me. With the story above, this man WAS forcing his beliefs on his victims....who were not returning the favor. Now that task is left up to the state of Alabama.

Mind defining terrorist for us then?

Seems to me if you feel that murder=terrorism then you could classify anyone who commits premeditated murder as a terrorist. Or would that make you happier?

no, sorry you cant. (thats my job) (quit stealin my jobs)

are the abortionist killings an act of terror as well? or is it only a terrorist act if a person of muslim faith does it?

(serious question we don't get the sensationalizing news coverage you do so im not aware if they are talking about those or not.)

But his RELIGIOUS beleifs were not the reason he shot them. The motive given was the TREATMENT of a religious group by another group, this is not terrorism. I'm not saying that murder is the correct outlet for his frustrations, but people make poor choices when expressing their feelings every single day.

Only on FOX news

Then why did he focus his rage on certain religions?

"A Muslim convert accused of killing a soldier outside a recruiting center may have been considering other targets including Jewish and Christian sites"

It seems to me that religion WAS a factor...

Kill as many people in the Army as he could.

Seems pretty simple what his objective was:
target soldiers and continue killing them.

The difference between this case and what goes on daily in Iraq or Afghanstan is the soldiers are not in uniform so to speak.

IMHO intending to kill an enemy force and causing chaos is different from premeditated murder.

This guy wants to be a jihadist, I say the justice system should treat him as one.

"because of what they had done to Muslims in the past,"

I'd say that was his reason....all groups that have historically degraded and attempted to dehumanize muslims

except for the middle part i agree with you.

the answers religion gives can be comforting but just because they're comforting doesn't make them true, they're more like cop outs.

Hatred is everywhere. Every single person in this world hates someone else...for whatever reason....Murder is NOT the answer. It is NOT acceptable for someone to murder someone else because of their personal beliefs....

I could look into my past and find someone who wronged me or my family, however, I am not allowed to kill someone (who is unrelated to the situation....as these soldiers were) to exact revenge.

Haha....I didnt say that what religions preached or believed were true (at least, that was not my intention). It gives people a sense of, as you put it, comfort. Which is helpful, for the most part, for society.
