I run the Emax 2215/25 out runner, small, light & crazy torque.

The other would be the Emax 2215/20 which will give you more wheel speed as it is 1200kv. You will require an adapter plate or the Outrunner motor plate from Axial.

Any other outrunner that is in the 900-1200kv should do nicely.

No, brushless is better for water running. You have less parts to wear out. such as the Brushes. all you have to do with the BL motors is re-lube the bearings.

I have to disagree. Low rpm, high turn, sensor-less in-runner motors (like the Ezrun motor we are talking about in this thread) are almost useless when run in water.

Out-runners on the other hand are great in water.

I was wondering if I can run dual motors on one of the easy run systems? What if I buy one of the e-z run ESC's and buy the motors seperate, which one should I buy they come in 35, 60 ,80 or the 150 amp model ESC's .I have a clod based super. Do I buy the highest amp esc if I want to run dual motors? I can get the "so called" crawler version for $62 which is a 32t brushless motor and I think a 60 amp esc. Could I buy that kit and another 35t motor and run them together or do I need a higher amp esc? Any answers would be a big help. Thank you and God bless. Bob

on hobbywing's crawler version ESC+motor combo, it's ESC is rated at 35A only. Im not sure if that is sufficient for dual motors or not.
the stock motor is a crap nonetheless, lots of cogging and not suited for rock crawling.

It has been mentioned that one outrunner can draw up to 50A in a burst, so I'd presume it's best to get the 60A Hobbywing at a minimum. There's also the 60A and 120A Xeruns, and the (quite heavy) 80A and 150A EZrun 1/8th ESCs, all four of which can run sensored motors (albeit, only one), which makes them versatile.

You can run 2 brushed motors on a brushless ESC, assuming that it has a brushed mode.

I doubt that you could run 2 brushless motors though. Unsensored brushless motors still send timing information back to the ESC. They use back-EMF from the coils, rather than a dedicated sensor. With 2 motors connected, the ESC could be seriously confused by getting 2 sets of feedback, unless the motors were perfectly in sync.

When i was looking for budget BL setup for my twin i couldn't find any information from any Car/Boat/Plane forum for a dual system that would work on single esc so i went straight to two separate systems and they were still cheap. For single esc system to work even in theory your motors should be 110 % identical and you'd need to clock them so that they would run in same phase all the time which in moa layout is pretty much impossible

ez run w/ 1350kv outrunner

I'm running the 35a esc w/ a 450 sized 1350kv outrunner. Very little cogging, not even noticable. Very smooth esc and i'm running two tranny and geared pretty low.
