The recent changes to Nats/worlds

What do you think about the recent changes to Nats

My advice to you would be to not go to the LCQ and show them who is boss. I am willing to try to go. Just to participate is worth the price of admission.

I missed this post, sorry about that. But, I would have MAYBE considered trying to go, if not for the fact that I specifically PM'd Jason on here, a MONTH prior to the announcement of all of this BS. He told me, and I quote "I can in fact tell you Nats will not be in August". He told me this after I expressed concern that I had an upcoming trip to Europe and I had grown worried about the dates of Nats since they had not been announced yet. Given this pm from him, I extended my trip to return home from Europe on either Aug 30th or Sept. 4th (we're playing a trip to Scotland by ear now). Thus why I couldn't even go if I wanted to now... "thumbsup" BTW, I had an invite if I had accepted it....

All he's asking for in the first part is who is/are the one(s) responsible now, that's a fair question I think. If they're man/woman enough to handle the reigns, they should be big enough to take the heat too...

And what heat do they deserve?

People running this board and these events all have jobs. Not a single person is getting rich of this. Add up how much entry fees are in total, subtract from that the hotel, and travel expenses of the three people running the event, then subtract insurance, facility rental etc...

The resulting amount would not motivate me to take all of the shit that this board is slinging.

Yes it could have been done better, yes it could have been done earlier, but that part is over. I know that some things feel through in the planning phase of this event, I also know that the announcement was not made late to piss people off, nor to add expense. There is no conspiracy.

People need to stop bitchin, it is what it is, be glad you live in a country where you can worry about running your 12.5" truck over rocks.

Man, I'm not trying to start an argument with you, make a personal attack at you or anything of the sort. Now you've gotten heated on a response I've made, that's how the rest of us that are extremely unhappy with this right now feel, welcome to the feeling. All I want is answers from those that are in the position to give them. And honestly, they deserve every bit of heat they have right now in my opinion. Again, I'm not attacking you or any of the other rules committee members/mods/etc. I just want an answer for the masses from the source. "thumbsup"

50 supers x 95 = 4750
50 1.9's x 95 = 4750
100 LCQ x 70 = 7000 (30 of these guys will move onto the main event)
66 Invitees x 95 = 6270
30 LCQ's that move on will probably have to pay up the extra $25:
30LCQ's x 25 = 750

Total = 23,520

Also add in the money(probably 1,000) that all the sponsors must pay and prizes donated.
Hell, I could put on one hell of a show with a 30,000 dollar budget.. I would have stripper pit girls for each driver and have them handing beers out also..:lmao::lmao::lmao:

But people seriously just need to get over it. It has happened and nothing you say or do is going to change it. Being part of the rules committee, there is nothing we(committee) can do either. If people do not like it, then do not go. I understand the frustration, as we(committee) can not even get answers. But everyone needs to remember this is a hobby for fun. Hanging out with friends, bsing with each other and drinking beers while crawling is what all started this, not all the talk about money,sponsors,etc.etc.

So everyone needs to go fire up the trucks and go crawling this weekend and let this crap die and move on. It's only a hobby, not life

What benefit will be realized by you knowing who signed the contracts, etc...? It will not be changed now.

I am a member of the rules commitee, I had nothing to do with it. Running events is not the task of the rules commitee.

I'm not looking to change anything or flame anyone. The benefit is knowing who is responsible for future decisions and who is running the show (USRCCA not any events specifically). I'm sure its all public record anyways, so why not just tell us? Wouldn't you like to know who is dictator of your favorite sport/hobby? Or hey lets just leave it a big mystery and keep everyone out of the loop, that seems to work great.

I would like to take this opportunity to nominate Twisted as event organizer for next year. :lmao:

dude beer and strippers. I am there.. I gonna role the dice and guess it will be in the north eastern part of the country to.

One thing I keep hearing is about the extra cost of flights. There are 5 major airports within a 3 hour drive, San Jose, SFO, Oakland, Sac, and Reno. I am sure somebody can find cheap tickets, and get a rental car for a number of people to pitch in on. OR, there are literally hundreds NorCal RC crawler drivers that I am sure would/could help out, if anybody would just ask.

I really don't care about the venu change, when or where ever it is, some people will have issues getting there, and others won't. Swallow the pill and go, or don't. Freedom of choice.

I know some people aren't happy, but I just hope everybody gets over their issues in time to compete and have a good time. The main thing that I always loved about the sport, was the comradery and friendly people. I hope the political BS can be removed and that things can return to the way I knew it to once be...

With Plane ticket, rental car & condo split between 4 of us...this trip is actually costing me less than Moab did last year.

There are tons of plane tickets to Reno and Sac for under 300 bux.

I still plan on going the weekend of the 12th to Moab. Plan on hitting the trails and camping.

Anyone else in??
