I haven't done much with this thread, as I completely gave up on the stock idea, but I can still update it with some useful info every now and then.
On the axles, if you are use to the simplicity of disassembling Berg/Newage axles, or even Axials for that matter, taking apart these things is a PITA. Pretty much every single screw you see on the axles needs to be removed to separate these things.:shock:
But anywho, onto the ratio. Internally, the gear ratio is 7.7:1, which seems pretty light, but in such a small space it is about all you can do. Combine that with a 12T pinion, and you end up at 32:1 FGR.
As best as my weak eyes I can, the stock spur is 48dp. I have run it for a couple of hours with a 48dp pinion and all seems well, so that is what I am going with.:mrgreen:
On a side note, I destroyed the stock plastic steering knuckle within a few minutes of running it, but luckily, the steering knuckles and outer stub shafts are typical of the Axial/Berg and interchangeable.
