Rock crawling or circus

Should there be man made stuff or should it be natural

BPRCA knows how the keep the obstacles consistent for each driver.

Obviously you didn't drive the lower course on sunday at '09 WCC. A manmade bridge fell over and every driver after that had to do a "STUPID" drop off the first gate just to start the course!.....

You forgot to mention the rocks that were stacked up in front of tire collapsed half way through the day on Saturday, so that obstacle was not very consistent for each driver either:shock:

IMO, just not rock crawling!...."thumbsup"...

As far as the cables? .....yeah we all drive them, but last year at Nats (2) 12 foot falls off the cables cost me at least a top 10 if not top 5 or 7 spot in SUPERS. Not to mention about $200 to put my rig back together....

Yep, your right I missed that one. That is not typically what happens and Ive been with the club for over 2 years. I recall a Nats course that fell apart last year too ;)

Oh yeah, the bridge thing was a judgement call and has been discussed..

If I were a betting man Id say that this years Worlds will have legendary courses that hold up. We shall see"thumbsup"

FRDTRKGUY, this is what happens when you don't show up to the comps...quality control is vastly compromised. You better be there for the Worlds.

Course building is a constant learning experience. When you push the levels of creativity as far as Parker does you are bound to experience small failures once in while. I recently attended the Moonrocks night comp put on by BPRCA and none of the man made obstacles were a factor in deciding the final standings in the comp. They were just fun and creative. "thumbsup"

Last time I looked this was NOT a BPRCA Event.....its USRCCA event, and it should reflect whats typical at normal events:shock:

Just to be straight, I have no doubt about Parker's skills as a course builder. I have driven many of them, and was always challenged. It is difficult to build a course that will stay together an entire day......

I think the BPRCA style courses are fun and enjoyable, when I'm attending a BPRCA event. I just don't think they should be a mandatory part of competing in the USRCCA's sanctioned events......

"NOT" whining, just my preference..."thumbsup"...

650 cc's = not real "thumbsup"

I personally prefer the real stuff to fake

I have been to Donner twice, and with endless natural terrian the fake stuff seemed unnessasary.

As a newb course builder I need Parker to do a write up on course building. What to look for, how to use natural terrian, add to it, start and finish, etc. I have never had the pleasure of running one of his courses (yet), but from what I see here, he is the man.
Just trying to advance our club and my skills both as a driver and course builder. We hope to hold a comp here and I don't want drivers to show up and have some totally f'ed up course that is too easy or no chance of finishing.
Parker.....your help would be appreciated.

now that we know who the new owners are, you know it will be a circus from here on out. I really like Parker, but people are judged by the company they keep :-(

Soooo....who was the USRCCA, I mean BPRCA? marshal that allowed a rig out of spec to take a WORLD Championship?........

That is absolutely lame!....This BPRCA supplied judges, officials, RULES, is the exact reason I and many others didn't show for this event!......

Why not pool judges from around the nation, like has always happened?...

Was (John)Fishmaxx not there? Isn't he the head of rules comittee, if i'm not mistaken?.....

I saw several judges not from the BPRCA; Ryan Gerrish, Grover, and I think Tanis.

FishMaxx was there.

I heard also there were other judges. I was going off of Jake's post that said;
(KING BLING)
"No judges needed!
The USRCCA / BPRCA has provided experienced judges and a head marshal"........

Since BPRCA/USRCCA now seem to be the same entity, one would think BPRCA supplied the judges....

My question was based on WHO made the decision to let an "out of spec" rig win a WORLD title!?....

Did that extra 1/2" give it an advantage over the "LEGAL" rigs that competed against it?...

From what I understand, this wasn't a rig that "fell" outta spec...... This rig was "MADE" out of spec!...

But who gives an "F" about rules right?..."thumbsup"...

Nope, that rig worked so well that KB would have won even if the body was twice the size.

I was kinda look'n for somebody with an impartial view!...."thumbsup"....

Not a CKRC soldier's opinion!....

But since you said it;..... why didn't he just run legally then?.....

My question was based on WHO made the decision to let an "out of spec" rig win a WORLD title!?....
We will probably never know be they will say "it was after the fact". What I don't understand is "when was it discovered that it was out of spec" ie... before he drove, during or after he finished his last course?

Before....it should have been fixed
During .... DQ for that course
After ...... DQ for his last course
This is the only way to judge it. But like I said "We'll never who was in charge of making the call".

I just want to take a moment to go back to the original intent of this thread; course design. From what I've seen on the live feed and heard from people out there, the courses were outstanding. Great job to Parker (drivenmf) for coming up with some kick-ass courses."thumbsup"
