Fiat to make Chysler into Fiat

Since the name Chrysler isn't really helping sell their cars, why the hell not. According to the article the Alfa Romeo line is more the Chrysler replacements. Alfa Romeo's are nice classy cars, which is what Chrysler was supposed to be for the brand. Since Fiat has restructured themselves and Alfa their cars are much better.

Lancia has some nice cross-over type vehicles to bring.

Or gander at the nice Fiat's: http://www.fiat.com/cgi-bin/pbrand....mejcefecejgdfkhdfjj.0&categoryOID=-1073761346

ugly

ugly

ugly

Didn't the dude that owns Fiat completely save Nissan's ass?

While the Alfa style is unique, its not cookie cutter ugly like Chrysler's current crop of vehicles that sell terribly.

I will say, calling the 8C ugly is one of the most hillbilly things I've heard. It's a Ferrari thoroughbreed...sadly its looks are about all it has because handling they skimped on so it drives like a Challenger, not a Ferrari.

I always liked alfas, they're so different.

I also really like the fiat 500 I hope we see that here.

Let's see...Power Wagon, Viper, Challenger, SRT-10 Ram...these are the only inspiring vehicles Dodge makes. The Jeep line could be cut down to the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee. Since the Prowler is gone, Chrysler has nothing that interests me, except maybe the SRT-6 Crossfire.

Leave those cars alone, and I don't see how Fiat could do any worse than the current C/D/J lines.

Couldn't Agree more"thumbsup"

haha...never said those weren't ugly, good job on picking the worst"thumbsup"

binaryterror, I do like being called a hillbilly but prefer white trash. Its just my opinion that's all. I don't like the styling of the front end I think its ugly.

I agree the Chrysler/Dodge cars are not pretty.

The only car in those pics that would sell here is the one that looks like a Acura TSX with a funny looking front end.

Again all my opinion.

I'd like to take a Fiat 500 Abarth for a swing. Looks like a little rocket.

Is Chrysler still thinking of making Ram its own line and ditching the Dodge nameplate altogether?

Frankly this is all they should hang onto

and Wranglers with the CRD engine

Funny you should say that about the current Jeeps. I was looking at all the new Jeeps on their site this past weekend and was thinking to myself that all of the "other" vehicles they have right now (Compass, Liberty, Patriot) all look the same. Even when I'm on the road and see a Patriot or Compass...I never really know which it is. The new Liberty is not so bad to me, but it kinda looks like offspring of a Commander and a Nitro :|

Feeble Italian Attempt at Touring.
Fix It Again Tony...
that whats my step dad always said about FIAT. So are they good cars or no....

In all honesty, even thinking your step dad has a point...why were they able to BUY (not merge) into Chrysler when no other American company could merge let alone buy. Globally the Fiats have improved monumentally with their new rejuvination through a better management team, mainly Sergio Marcchione.

Remember people used to make fun of Honda and Toyota too...

Fiat pulled out of the US before most of you were born. I owned several, 128's, a couple Stradas and an x1/9 that I never could get to run. They were decently built but rust was a major problem. If they hadn't made major progress in the last 30 years, they wouldn't still be around.

Hondas, Nissans and Toyotas from the same time were pretty craptacular, too. B-210 Honey Bee, anyone?

Really the only thing Chrysler has that Fiat would want is their dealer network. Mercedes couldn't make Chrysler turn a profit so I'd be real surprised if Fiat can. Their best bet is to drop everything but the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Ram and Caravan and substitute Fiats for the rest of the lineup. Maybe keep the Charger around for police fleet sales.

Chrysler's current interiors are cheesier than 1970's Fiats.
