GM must be going through some tough times to only offer this salary to their head moron:
http://money.cnn.com/2010/02/19/news/companies/GM_salary/index.htm

BTW, if you were wondering what the stipulations that were imposed on this company for accepting TARP:
http://www.treas.gov/press/releases/tg165.htm

That's right, it says:
"The new regulations limit bonuses paid to senior executive officers – defined to include the "named executive officers" identified in the company's annual compensation disclosures – and to a specified number of the most highly compensated employees of TARP recipients to one-third of total compensation, implementing the provisions passed by Congress."

More government waste!

Did you catch this part?

"GM also said in Friday's SEC filing that Henderson will sign on as a consultant to the automaker for $59,090 a month plus expenses, for 20 hours of work per month through 2010."

Henderson is the guy who just stepped down as acting CEO. So he gets $3000 per hour plus expenses. Wow.

Yeah....saw that.

So, the government DEMANDED that Henderson be fired as a condition of TARP because he did a bad job.....and now he's being hired back to consult?!?!?!

Bullsh!t.

dont let it get you bumed,we all know chevy sux,and we all know how efficient the gov. isnt.

they are a perfect match:mrgreen:

I'm just thankfull FORD didnt take any bailout $$$.
right now there is really only ONE TRUE AMERICAN TRUCK FORD F-350.

chevy is the gov. company. and dodge is owned by some uero company.

Uh, still doesn't change the fact that the Powerstroke sucks! Sorry, don't like the idea of having to remove the cab just to work on the engine. Diesels are torque engines. I6>V8 in making torque. Chevy makes a better interior than ford and Dodge. The Dodge has a better diesel offering than both ford and GM. and the Ford bodies are solid. If we threw them all together and put a ram head on the front and an Allison trans mated to a Cummins I'd be happy.

the 6.o sux,and so does the 6.4 I'll give you that.
but my mechanic doesnt take the cab off.
he gets paid the time its supposed to take though. and that sux for the
consumer.

but the death of the 7.3 was california's regulations.
I put my 7.3 up against dodge worry free.

light to light they may get me.
but axle to axle they never have what it takes.

and interior?
I dont know what ford you talking about.

dodge interior just plain sux.period.
and I cant imagine chevy having nicer than ford.
ford has very nice interior packaged available.

I have had 3 chevy's they couldn't do the work.

and that being said you did have 3 american truck companies.
ford,chevy,dodge.

not anymore.
thanks obama for all your brilliance

Paul, I gotta agree with you on that one....the 7.3 was a GREAT engine. My pop refuses to give up his '00 PSD....I've offered to take it off his hands many times...

I was impressed when Ford turned the bailout money about a year ago and bought their stock at $2 a share it closed a little below $12 today just about 600% return I'm a big believer you bet. "thumbsup"

Nice, Good for you Dude. Ford was smart in not taking the bailout too.

That may be true but Allison vs. Chrysler trans its easy to figure out who the winner will be.

yep,if you buy a chrysler its for life,
cuz nobody will want it:)

if you buy a ford its for life,
cuz you wont want to let it go:mrgreen:

when you buy a chevy,
well who really cares its a chevy:?

Unless you are smart and buy a Jeep. I can sell my 95 cherokee with a gutted interior and rusty floors AND a cracked frame and someone will buy it. My 97 isn't going anywhere unless it gets totaled. Unfortunately that has happened once already! :(

Too bad this did not come up a few years ago as I would have tied up to you any time.

The 7.3 was an OK motor but it was not without its downfalls. We used to work ours. Pulled 48 foot wedge trailers all over the country. We tried them all and ended up going back to Dodge and a Cummins for fuel economy, reliability, pulling power and cab ergonomics.

Still love the olders 12 V cummins because with a few simple hand tools and a little time, you could make them pull most anything.

The last two Dodges had over 200K on them in less then two years time. We sold them and one trailer and purchased a Freightliner FL70 with a sleeper and a 12 V cummins.

The two most popular motors used in the smaller trucks are either the Cat or the Cummins. You don't see them with Powerstrokes or Duromaxs for a reason.

what ever, you and me go to a truck stop, every time a PSD pulls in you give me a franklin, everytime a cummins pulls in I'll give you a franklin

I'll give you a franklin for every hour a cat pulls in
you give me one every hour a cat DOESNT pull in.

I'll make money

the cat is way over rated and you see none hardly on the road.the duramax also is seldom seen on the road.
well I dont know about city folk them chevy;s may work for luggin groceries.

I dont pull much,just around 40-80,000 in 6 months
in the 18-25,999lbs range, but I was scaler at
38,000 once,it was B.S. I have had 4 now, never worry till I get to 300,000. then its time for another rag doll.

and the dodge cab sux,I still dont understatd why they cant just make a regular crewcab? no dodge has nothing on ANYBODY when it comes to a cab.hell I cant get comfortable in a dodge. its the cheapest interior ever.
but you keep telling your self its great,it might work for ya.

fuel econamy yes,or atlest the 5.9
12v over 24 yes,the 24 is junk.

but more power?
thats a joke, but its your story, you tell it however you want"thumbsup"
