A mirror broke off during the photoshoot(thanks to my big bulky winter gloves) but I can just glue it back on, not a big deal. The maiden outdoor voyage as a scaler was a good one, wish it was a bit warmer, 15F felt like -5F but thanks to a big heavy sweatshirt, it was all good. In the video you see me pause for a second, I was putting my hood up to stay warmer. Never made it to the other part of hte garden in the pics or video but did afterward then took it in the snow in the backyard, on the ice, on some rocks and on a "trail" i am currently working on for it. Enjoy!

Now for its true colors, it was sunset so you can actually see its real colors, not messed up and looking pink

Sitting at just over 9" long in all its glory. Enjoy~

It seems to ride a little stiff though, try rear micro-t springs and a little more weight in the tires to offset the heavy body up top.

Yup thanks, and remember its got the rubberbanded droop as for one of the shocks because of how I designed the chassis, I can't get to the shock so I can't take off the spring. I'm going to try to get to it later and go no springs on this one, for a real droop.

Well it turned out I needed a propane torch to melt the solder which I didn't want to use so returned it and got JB Kwik which seems to hold up nicely. Only got to do one side(added a crossbrace for structure) but I did snap pictures of the bare chassis and the truck next to my old X-Truck with a lift kit and a Titan front clip flipped, no specs I haven't driven it in over 2 years. Didn't get a chance to drive it as it was bitterly cold outside today, never made it above 15F. Also in here is a picture of it on top of my 1/16 Revo VXL, before, when it(the scaler) was stock, and after, how it(the scaler) sits now. And yes I am going to sand the panel for the cage tomorrow.

Tranny/4 Link Mount

Cheaply made front shock mount, but works

Driveshaft, made from cut driveshafts glued onto a pen tube then connected to the stock shafts

The jig for the one panel on the cage, when I tried to use the solder first but kept it for when I did JB Weld/Kwik

One side finished

Other copper rod, I cut them down with the dremel, need to get more of them though, I can make a panel with about 3/4 of one

Thanks twisted! Got some updates, set it up with a real droop setup, bent the rear links(REALLY helped A LOT) as will be seen in the videos that will get uploaded a bit later. Also got a CF decal sheet by XXX Main from my LHS, not the cleanest but from far away its hard to tell its not too clean. Only reason it sticks up is from the dremeled holes from when I had cut too deep for the shock mount, with that dremel. Looks good otherwise, covered up the less painted area on the tailgate and also just did the wheel indents for looks. Going to need to make a skidplate, grabbed too much on a few rocks though, the sharper, steeper ones that is

See, the battery stays hidden nicely.

Enjoy, remember the video comes soon and it performs MUCH better with the actual droop instead of stiff with the rubber band droop, also got the rear adjusted so it has ZERO play compared to before where the rear would sway a lot

Well got out and did a little snow bash earlier, after some had melted(needed some rocks to crawl and 16" covers those!) so enjoy these pictures, videos come tomorrow after I edit them. Definitely was fun. The only update since last time is the full interior. One wheel looks silver, well it was, that was just a test and I did like the color but I have to do it silver paint, so just covered it with sharpie for now, black sharpie

Did some messing around in photoshop because I figure may as well get some sponsors (hehe) and show off some nationality on my rig. So a lot of cutting, opacity changes and re sizing, had to find a picture that showed the rear windshield and this was the only one. Sorry for the large size but its hard to see otherwise, figured the rear window was too empty! What do you guys think?

Lowered the front and rear since the last update, but now awaiting my leafs from Chameleonkid, both him and I can't wait to see this truck with leafs. Be able to ditch the 4 link system and get it looking better. Recently made a cage out of complete boredom so enjoy and comment!

Another update. The cage is partially done, ran out of brass coat hanger. Not the best looking one but will hold a scale ladder unless I decide to ditch it. JB weld is my best friend. Has joined the duct tape and shoo goo now

First let me throw a big shoutout to Chameleonkid on behalf of my leafs, great job on them buddy! Also if this could be moved to the Micro Scale section, much appreciated!

As requested by Krawlin through AIM(Happy Chris? lol) pictures of updates. A few nights ago tried the leaf setup, the first one but the wheels were nowhere near the wheel well, then tried another but didn't look realistic at all, just like the first one. Today re-did the entire rear setup, moved one of the cross members forward, puttied in the holes from when it ran shocks etc.. and mounted the axle with picture hanging wire(works great, then re-inforced it so the axle won't slide which is the 2nd setup from today. Had to shift the axle forward 1 or 2 mm so when it flexed it wouldn't rub as bad on the rear, plus sits a little lower at ride height. Going to cut away at the wheel well so when it flexes, it won't rub at all but that will be after the front leafs are mounted. Anyway, enough blabbing, onto the pictures.

But..unfortunately it didn't line up with the wheel wells so went to this

Highly unrealistic here and the axle wasn't mounted yet
Now onto today...
First setup of today, axle slid a lil' too much on this setup and sat a little too high for my likings(yep going for as close as I can get to a real scale height this time around!)

The wire may be a little sloppy, but this axle isn't moving any time soon

I know its kind of hard to see my camera is old and crappy what i did here was shave off the shock mounts and drill a small hole next to where the leafs would sit. To small sqaures of .60 styrne glued to geather and a stock screw that came with the losi crawler. they don't move one bit and its realy easy to take them on and off when your working on it. I actualy twisted my first leafs when the tires got in a bind.

pull off the servo and set it aside. Don't even worry about steering untill you have the suspension just how you want it

Ahh well I got it how I want but the quote is me responding to Scalerlover, on another forum. I'm going to make a new link out of threaded rod and ball cups, and mount that sucker up on the chassis so yeah. But thanks for..yeah lol

Ah ok and what did you make your drag link out of? I'm thinking I'll use threaded rod but I'm curious of what others used in theirs.
Anyway small mock up of the leafs mounted up front, the wheels won't sit that far out this was strictly a mock up. Sits a little high up but it still needs room to flex so yeah..

can anyone spot the MS paint editing below? Photoshop is frozen so yeah..
