1/6 campbell buggy

WOW! This truck is giving me a boner. Excellent work, those 3rd members are awesome, and you realy got my brain thinkin hard about writing a program for the CNC i work on and trying to take a stab at it. I am anxious to see your final results, bigger is definetly better. I bet you could practicaly sit on this thing and ride around like a Power Wheels. If you need any pneumatic parts for the steering let me know, i have a bunch of paintball gun pneu's, something may work. If your lathe would support the stock, i would be curious to see what you could do if you tried to make your own beadlocks.

Very impressive work, its inspiring.

beadlocks are already in the works in my head. Just need the stock and the time. My personal lathe isn't big enough buy the one at my work is.

Thats good you have acess to a larger one. Working on a machine has its perks, i know i appreciate it. I can run 2.5" stock thru the spindle, and we have jaws set up for up to 5 1/4" stock, and tooling out the wazoo =P I may try my hand at some beadlocks soon too, working on selling some stuff to buy some Super Bully axles, half way there, then i wanna build a sweet tuber. I am definetly gonna watch this thread, this is an awesome toy, truly custom.

The shafts will have a dog bone on one end which will go into the drive cup on the maxx spool and he other end will be a massive cv joint.
yea but how do u secure drive cups when its inside the axle ?
hope your using something stronger than maxx gears.

If you need rings, I found a guy on ebay and he made me some on his water jet. they are really nice.
I think it was $30 for six 2.2 size and 6 40 series rings.
if you are interested I can try and look him up.

There is a hole drilled on each side of the pumpkin to slide the cups threaded pin through on an Allen wrench. I just drop the cup in the tube line it up and three the pin through. Takes about 30 sec.

This may be a dumb question but, are those wheels axials? I can't seem to find them. I went to the site in the pic but maybe I missed them. This thing is awesome, I am building a 1/6 scale 1985 silverado based tuber with the same tires but those rims are really nice. Thanks for the help.

After helpin out at the rc4wd rcx booth, the man cave crawlers went up to lytle creek to go crawling. Took a couple posers of the Campbell before we left.

I also started working on the designs for the transer case/tranny. It will have a 775 brushed motor in it with the gears from an x crawler. I'll get to work on this as soon as I have some free time at work. Please excuse the crappy pics. *

I finally got some free time on the machines at work and was able to finish my tranny. Still have to shorten the outputs and weld the x crawler gears.*

So the other day I took the buggy for a little test run (no steering btw), and I figured out that the Titan 775 didn't quite have the torque I thought it would. It actually started smoking. So I decided to tear apart my rc4wd gear reduction and make one for a 775 motor. The only problem was that I had to turn the 5mm shaft down to 1/8". Oh and I put jam nuts on all the links. Finished the shock mounts. Made and mounted the lower skid, and mounted tranny. And lastly I made the front cvd's (extended/shortened truggy cvd's). *
