Holy crap, is that all that's inside one of those things? Those gears look like they came from inside a medium sized pocket watch! I hope it holds up!

That's a 775 motor not a 550. So it makes the gears look small. They are all 32p and almost .100" thick.

Small update, finally got the new rims mounted. I was really excited to put these on, but when I opened em up I found out that instead of having a 17mm adaptor they had some funky hybrid hex to make them work on a summit and that's about it. It has a 14 mm hex on back with the standard 17mm style threads and nut on the front. So I remachined the hex on the adapter to what it should have been. Anywho on to the pics.*

I was going to get a set of those rims. My concern was how close is the outside of the rim to the outside of the tire. Are you going to get allot of rock on the outside?

They look great though!
 
Haven't updated this in a while. I got the entire chassis tig welded and put all the body nuts on. I changed the motor out to a 65mm outrunner. I got the 4.0 rock lox installed. And I put a Hitec HS-7980th. I figured this servo on the castle bec pro with 611 in-oz of torque would be plenty for this rig, I was very wrong :mrgreen:. I was easily able to stall this servo, so I'm gonna have to get something a little bigger :shock:

This servo has 1200 in-oz at 8.4v, and they say you can run 12v and get 1800 in-oz. If that isn't enough then this thing will become a shelf queen :ror:

What about using a pair of servos for the steering? It'd probably be cheaper to get two smaller servos that together will give more force than one large one. It is not as if you are going to be short of space!

Have you run it under power? How are your diffs holding up? Err, sorry, how are your third members holding up? :razz:
 
]Actually I would need almost 3 HS-7980th servos to equal the torque from the servo I'm getting. The Torxis i00600 puts out 1600 in-oz and the HS-7980th only puts out 611. Plus 3 of the hitecs would be $600 and 3 times the amp draw which would lite the Bec Pro on fire :lmao:. Heres a vid of it lifting 100lbs effortlessly.

That servo just gave me a hernia!!! Holy horse SH*T. My 1:1 could use one of those. This build is out of control. Keep on amazing us. :):):):):)
