hey all just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.....My rear tires are not spining ive checked the gears and they seem fine nothing stripped and the motor still seems to be spinning fine so im lost lol..Im new to this hooby so still learning the ropes..The only mods ive done so far is parralell the motors and put on some rovers and suspension adjustments..Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks all and i look forward to gaining some knowledge and moding the hell out of this rig.

Check your wiring maybe something is unplugged or not making conection somewhere then maybe try swapping wires with the front motor and see if the motor is ok it's usually something simple good luck "thumbsup"

Thnx man ill give that a try and see what happens i love this rig ive been out everyday since i got it with my neighbours and there axials and it keeps up no problem and makes it in some insane spots.

Welcome! Does the rear motor sound like it's turning but the wheels aren't turning? It might be that the pin in there might of broke. The pin that locks the axle outputs together. This happened twice on mine. i replaced em with 1.1 Driveshaft needle bearing.

yup same thing happened to me 2 times just today i have broken 3 of them now... and here i was worried about the gears lol... they really need to come up with a stronger pin for the locker in the output shaft spur. i even ran a heavy needle bearing that was a bit longer and shattered it in 3 pieces. so ya i would check that if your motor is still turning.

Only other thing would be to go to a bigger dia. and drill and dremel out the shaft and the locker. You got to much power talon!

yeeeaaa.... well the first pin snapped while i still had the stock motors in. if i had still had the stock pin in with those motors that thing wouldnt have lasted a day lol... but i got another heavy duty pin in there now and its holding up pretty good now. alot of the failure is coming from that plastic cover it sits in because it gets wallowed out and allows the motors to gain power before the wheels start moving so theres alot of play in it between the motor and the wheels. if it was some kind of metal or something it probably wouldnt do it so bad. but hey it is what it is so i will just keep fixing it lol.

Hey Talon!
Why not get some of that steel puddy stuff they sell at the auto parts store? You could mix it together and then stick a pin in it to make the notch, pull the pin out and let it harden, Then you could drill the hole for the shaft. That might fix your wobble or wallow or what ever you called it until the metal geats get here."thumbsup"

when i did the 540 swap. i didnt have any needle bearings, so i used an allen wrench. perfect fit. just needed to cut length.most of them are hardened steel. as far as the pin. my front one was bent. probably from the dig.

If you guys can get me a good measurement on the pin, I might be able to help you out, just PM me.

Um, did you check the set screw holding the motor pinion on? You did say the motor seems to be spinning. After that, check the drive pin. Its really easy to lose those when you have the wheels off.

Thx for all thee info guys ima check out everything when I get off work and ya motor spins pinion is in place steering works gears move only thing is the wheels don't spin...thx again all!!!

Is the rear not spinning on flat ground...or is it not spinning when you're trying to go over an obstacle? If it spins fine on flat ground, but not over an obstacle...that's the wonderful clod stall happening.

well it was 100% fine then next thing you know no rears spinning so i picked it up gave it throttle and it would move extremly slow one finger on the tire and it stops..So now im starting to tear it apart again and see WTF! ill get back with my findings.

its the pin in the spur gear locker assembly. thats exactly what mine did.

the pins in the locker are pretty soft steel. if it were the pin i would change out the other axle as well.

Ok guys thx for all the help it was indeed the pin broken in 3pc in the spur locker assembly!! THX AGAIN!!! I ende up using the shaft from a eyeglass screw driver cut it to fit and its WAY tougher than the stock pin so it should hold up for awhile.....i hope

talk to gunnar i think he might have high strength pins you can get...

I went to the LHS and found a piston pin from a nitro car that was the same diameter. Had to clip it shorter but it worked great and only cost a couple bucks. Piston pin should be hardened too. I though it was strange that this sheared before the plastic gears, wonder if this pin is the "fuse-able link" in the gear train.

2 things to look for before wasting money at the hobby shop.
1.) a hanger
2.) a spoke (dunno the gauge.)

Buy a spoke from a bike shop and make the 30 or so pins it'll provide.
Hangers are kinda soft, but it works in my 3hp Nitro truck.
