Headphone listeners

I was thinking about my earlier post and how I was shocked about how expensive the headphones were. And again I feel stupid. Here most of us are with our $1000+ crawlers, a lot of us with I'd say over $10k in RC's easy and were saying your crazy!:ror:

I have a friend with a $8000 bicycle! I used to say to him you are fawking nuts! And he would say "Kenny, you have a $12k motorcycle, a knife collection in which some of them cost over $1000, like 40-50 RC's, more watches then any guy should own, ect.... And you say I'm crazy for buying my bicycle!"

So I get it!"thumbsup" Its not crazy if it's something you want and will use and get enjoyment out of! But I have to say I do want to hear what a $1800 set of headphones sounds like!!!:ror:

Wow! Good thread!

Nice collection. "thumbsup"

I looked up what those things cost.

Little pricey for "just" headphones, but if I enjoy them as long as I hope to, it's fine. Fourteen years makes them only $100 a year. I'd pay that knowing there really isn't anything better than them. Well, they're probably top three of all time, but you get it...

I paid less then that for the jeep in the parking lot:shock:

I heard the same thing today from two coworkers. I said "Nice piece of shit car you got, I got headphones that cost more than that crapper." :flipoff:

I can't wait to hear these things. I read my ass off for about three weeks when I first thought about getting some new ones. I kept reading that this set of phones had this problem, or these have that problem, all the while I'm moving up the ladder of cost. So I said screw it, I don't want to know I bought something I will always hear as flawed in some degree, let's just go to the top. Took me two days of having everything entered before I could hit submit, and I gave myself til 12 am Monday to decide, and I did it at midnight on the dot.

Not something I would drop that kind of coin on, but if it's something you're passionate about, then it sounds like a great investment."thumbsup"

I am CONSTANTLY listening to music. Home, car, work. No TV, ever.

It's like you guys and your big screen TVs, only it's a set of headphones that sound 100x better.

Cant watch porn on them though!......I guess you could listen to porn though, really really well! :lmao:

I got a computer for that.

Should be here Friday... slow shippers...

Anyone listen to records?

I do.

I want pics of those on your head.

I can't believe you did that.

My wife picked up a set of sennheiser earbuds for me a year or so ago. I must say that i have always been impressed with sennheiser quality. i will never spend anything near what you did on headphones and i eagerly await your review.

I do find it disappointing that you bought a budget set. Everyone knows that the Sennheiser Orpheus is the only way to go.

I read up on them things just to see what a SERIOUSLY expensive headphone set up could be described as. This was good.

I listen to my Orpheus almost every night, usually choosing one SACD, often classical.

Within five minutes you are in another world. There is nothing like this IMHO, not speakers (I have maggies), not Stax (I have 007a with Spritzer mod) ... it is like hypnosis. Euphonics is the correct term, as others have posted.

Violin concertos so searing they bring tears to my eyes. Opera so intense I shiver.

I listen with the lights off, the little l.e.d.'s on various pieces of equipment sparkle like stars in the sky.

This has been a very tense year. Without Orpheus I would be a drunk or druggie; it is my escape from reality.

When I bought the thing, my wife told me I could no longer buy a new car. Ever. She means it, and she controls the checkbook. My 2002 Toyota drops plastic pieces all over the road, is beat to hell, and very few of its systems work as intended. But I drive it with a smile.

i found a picture of that guy.

I zoomed in on the name tag multi pass thing and it said kurt.

ahhh crap, forgot to edit it out.

To be honest with you, i just installed martin logans in every room so these headphones are just taking up space. you can have them for ohh, lets say 3K. Paypal ony, please send as a gift.

Besides using Shure or WeSC for DJ Headphones, which usually run about $149 Skullcandy is a great affordable set that will last you and for $45.00 a pair they are widly used even among some of the top DJ's in the industry. But honestly the Shure SRH Series are pretty sweet and the WeSC Bagpipe series are probably worth the purchase in my opinion. I know that Linkin Park uses the WeSC headphones for recording if that helps at all. Other than that maybe trying the Sennheiser HD 800's is well worth the money for High Def sound but or $1100.00 it seems too much or me to enjoy music. Have you looked at the AKG's? I would guess maybe you might enjoy the price and quality in the K701's or the MKII's

I have the Bose Noise Cancelling full size and love them at work and on flights. Still not the level you're talking about?

I love my Bose QC3 headphones, but they are not on the level of what other people are talking about. I had the QC1, but they broke but if you take them to a Bose store they will exchange them for $50.
