Dyson vacuums, worth the price?

I agree with the other poster on the Bissell. I've got the one for pet owners and it's awesome and cost much less. With a cat and dog that shed like crazy, I have never been dissapointed with the Bissell. And I can dismount the canister and use in the car, on the stairs, etc without having to lug the whole unit around.

We bought an "Animal" , purple MOFO , when we bought our new house. That was 4 years ago , its a badass vacume. My kids didn't even tear it up.
Spend the money it's worth it.

I have the same exact one. It pretty much kicks butt. We really like it.

Best vacuum I have ever owned, hands down.

Major likes, long cord so I don't have to unplug and replug constantly. Second major like, long accessories hose so I can leave the vacuum at the bottom of the stairs and vacuum the whole stairwell without dragging the unit with me.

Not to mention it sucks! I did tests with it initially when I got mine and vacuumed with my old one first, then with the dyson and it was ridiculous the amount of dirt the dyson picked up after using the other unit.

Ditto.

We have had our DC14 Animal for years with no issues at all. I live on a sandhill and we were up to four 80# plus dogs at one time. It sucks like no other. "thumbsup"

and I would bet I could run my dyson over where you just ran your bissell and pick up a ton of dirt. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

They cost more for a reason. Try one and you will see. "thumbsup"

I did the same and the $40 vacuum picked up dirt after the Dyson went over it. Don't get me wrong the Dyson is of higher build quality but I was very impressed with the cheapo temporary replacement. The Dyson stays down stairs and the Bissle stays up stairs.

Good vacuums. If you have a wool or wool blend carpet watch that you don't over vacuum the carpet. The Dyson will actually suck the fibers out of the carpet it works so well.

We have one of the purple animals. My wife loves it.....I have no opinion of it because I don't use it. lol

We went through 3-4 cheaper $100 vacuums before buying the Dyson Animal. The dog hair from our Golden was killing the cheap vacuums within 1 year each and they wouldn't get all the hair. I think we have had the Dyson for 3 years now.

They say don't buy your wife appliances as Christmas gifts, but Heather was glad to get it and it has made her life easier. Well worth the money. "thumbsup"
