Halloween rant...

I love you Americans- folks giving out bibles at the door, and other folks not happy about it and saying so.

In Canada, most people are too shy/nice/quiet to ever let anyone know that they feel strongly about anything!

Its OK to have an opinion dammit! 8)
 
I'm not seeing what the big deal is? Ok, so one person gave you a pamphlet about something you don't care about(out of how many houses? Only you know). Lol, someone said they should be "dealt with", how exactly? I didn't know it was against the law to give out pamphlets instead of candy... Aure, I don't know how it was given to you, but why did someone else say that it was being pushy? Maybe it was. Maybe it wasn't. But why assume it was, because they're religous?

Anyways, my point, why waste time and breathe on something so little that you don't even care or believe... I certainly wouldn't be mad or care in the slightest if I got some pamphlet about something. I'd just glance at it, laugh, crumple it up and throw it away. I guess that's just me.

We stopped at roughly 30 houses and he got 4 or 5 propoganda type items in his bucket.

Its seems that more and more often, if there is going to be a gathering of people, there are a few that have to push Christianity. There have been a handful of potentially fun times in my life that have been killed by some jerkoff with a bullhorn and a bible.

I don't think anyone is going to make it far in this world without hearing about Jesus, so there is no need for the hard push he's getting. Maybe its just the area I live in. I've got three churches within 1/4 of my house, beyond that, there are plenty more.

I am a Christian and JeremyH can attest I in no way force my beliefs on anyone, however I have to ask this. Does anyone force you to go to the peoples houses that hand out the pamphlets? I mean, some of the houses I took my kid to they gave cheap dollar store candy, which I threw away, some gave candy not wrapped well which I threw away as well. I just don't see how it matters. I have a choice whether or not to take my kids to their house and if they be Jehovah's Witness, Mormon, or some other group that hands out pamphlets I will just throw it away.

I in no shape or form support the bull horn people shouting to everyone they are going to hell, however I don't see that as the case here.

I mean, when the people show up to your house I can see the irritation, but you are showing up to theirs.

Not true. Every week there were these old Christian pushy assholes that always tried to hand you a mini bible as you were getting off the school bus. I never took one. And everyone that did, just ended up dumping it in the garbage immediately. The school couldn't do anything about it either. They would get mad if you didn't take on and start to preach some weird bullshit about how your going to hell blah blah blah. I would do one of three things

1. Just keep walking
2. Yell out atheist atheist atheist!
Or my personal favorite,
3. Yell out 666! Devil worship! 666! 666!


They never got the hint to stop trying to convert me. I am very stubborn and your not gonna break me.

Religion is not brainwashing????? I also don't think you should be able to be "saved" until at least 18. You can't buy cigarettes till then, but your parents can sell your soul as a child????????

YOU THREW AWAY CANDY?!!

But wow, giving out mini bibles or whatever.. ive never gotten one in the 13 years i trick or treated.. im 16 now. but if the people didnt wanna give out candy theyd give out toothpaste or rich people tooth brushes
 
Every week these church people come to the back of our school and hand out pocket bibles. I don't want it and hate when they come to give it out. They once handed it to me and I tryied to ignore him but then he walked after me and tapped me on the shoulder and demanded I take it. He gave one to me and I tried to give it back but he wouldn't take it. I now have like five of them and I don't want to through them away becuase I feel like im a be cursed for life or something like that:ror:.....:evil:

Next time he follows you and touches you should turn around and yell " I DONT WANT TO GO HOME WITH YOU! I DON"T KNOW YOU!"

He'll be like :shock:
