Traxxas Monster truck

There was a Traxxas Monster truck "T-Maxx", but Traxxas dropped the sponsorship when they got into short course racing.

My 5 year old wants the Grave Digger one. I told him no, it's just a 'Pede with a different body and funky tires.........

looking at the exploded view its a pede with 22/30 wheels and tires and different bumper Better be the same price as the regular pede.

Does anyone else think that Traxxas is moving backward a bit after so much progress and polishing of their trucks?

The MTs for instance, but also look at the new 1/16 cars...the Boss 302s look like the old Revell RPMZ.

On a side note, I'd be willing to bet that Traxxas will have a bike released within 6 months.

Went to Monster Jam here last weekend, the Grave Digger driver gave one of these away to a lucky kid in the crowd, after they showed a video of it on the big screen. Kinda cool. "thumbsup"

I imagine if I was ten yrs old and that happened to me I'd wet my Toughskins from excitement.

They royally screwed up by not releasing it first on their 4x4 pede chassis.

I think going with a lower price point vehicle that is also simplier might have been a good idea. Think of this as an outreach product or a gateway product. I would be too surprised if people already into RC just buy these body and tires for their Stampede 4X4's.

I understand they are trying to hit a price point, I'll also bet that they'll give these a few months then release them as a 4wd version. I just really think it's gay to release a 2wd monster truck. That's like releasing a 2wd rockcrawler.

My initial reaction was I want a 4WD one, but when I think about the fact that they're looking to target potential new enthusiats, it makes sense to go with as low of a price point as possible. When you add in the fact that an even a stock 2WD Stampede will blow away a non-enthusiast, it makes even more sense to me.

You are right a stock 2wd pede is a fun vehicle, however I'll bet there are some monster truck fans that will get these as their intro to RC and be upset it isn't 4wd like all 1:1 monster trucks.

I used to be a major Traxxas nut, but I have been slowly moving away.

1/16 scale, why not 1/14. or 1/12.

All this little crap, built on a cheap plastic platform.

Who wants one of these? A Ford Fiesta drifter - pathetic. Traxxas people want a 1/10 touring car, and a 1/8th buggy. Then we get this.

Looks like something I hacked up one night!

Ive headed more towards HPI, OFNA, etc. The Savage kicks butt, and my Hyper is insane.

They need to get it together.

It's Ken Blocks, so all his DC Sheeple will buy one.

Slowly? What's the last Traxxas you've owned?

Crap? Huh, my Traxxas stuff isnt bulletproof but is damn tough.
Who wants one of these? There are a bunch of people wanting them. They are popular, not for you? Don't buy one. A Ford Fiesta drifter - pathetic. Traxxas people want a 1/10 touring car, and a 1/8th buggy. So you ARE a Traxxas guy? I honestly own most of the current line up. Sad, maybe...but they are all awesome rigs in their respective class.

Boo hoo. Thread back on track. Monster trucks. :flipoff:
