Hulksta's 'Monsta' MOA

Freakin awesome. Are those delrin links you did yourself? If so how did you get the bend in them? Heatgun or something?

The links were bought like that.. the front came with the Chopper chassis and the rear i bought off Crawler Innovations (there the high clearance ones)

I really like this steering set up. "thumbsup"

I'm trying to figure out how to do something similar on mine.

It worked great untill i fitted the 20* C's .... the setup is being changed again lol

thats a lot of money in that truck, looks good!
Its funny how you start building a rig and planing not to spend too much.... now ive got $700 in 3pairs of motors for this rig:shock: i need to start selling some spares i think..

I think if I ever do a MOA with my spare set of axles I'm just going to copy your truck. I've always liked it and it performs well to boot "thumbsup"

Got a few small updates (wish there was more but im still waiting on an order from 5weeks ago)

Got my HD gears, fitted them with Avid bearing, ceramic on the worms and chrome/steel on the spools...

Got the axles together, New BrOOd 2011 LE motors with ceramic bearings (the 2010 LE BrOOd's will be my spares for this rig)

And thats all for the update:lmao: Im just hanging on my orders to arrive to finish it, when they do i'll be building a new chassis and links and making Ti links for front & maybe rear (thanks to Erik_Dlux) oh and the knuckle weights im making to suit my offset..... but for now i'll likely have to put my old chassis etc back on for the comp next weekend...

This is the cut im going to try on these (hard to get pics of the new tyres, might try again when they get dirty)

Update...

I went back to my old boss claws as the foams in the new ones were too soft for this rig...

As a few guys at the comp noticed its now sporting a new chassis.. ive made my own carbon fiber chassis based on the chooper one but with some changes i felt were needed....

This is the new chassis Ive been calling 'The Monsta' :ror: on the front you'll note the belly i desined into it as the chopper one often hooked onto rocks.. at the rear you'll notice the adjustable tail to raise/lower the rear...

Ive also started a new mount for the servo and front esc...

I havent finished yet, i was just trying to get it ready for the comp on Sunday so the finished mount will be lighter too with a slight change due to bta setup when my ti rod arrives

The mount it replaced..

And the new... (you'll note the spare in the background, i always make two and toss the other in the box if but chance one brakes at a comp)

And some profile shots of the chassis (ignore the wiring setup, it was all tossed in for the comp)

how are you liking the MOA setup with the HD gearset?
Hi Jake, i havent got much time on the HD gears but the first thing i noticed is the much welcomed extra wheel speed! im only running 12t on both ends with the matched 2011 LE brOOds and its feeling VERY smooth:mrgreen: im thinking of stepping upto a 13 or 14t as there is no signs of binding...

Ive got alot of tuning to do over the next month as the balance and shock setup is all out with the new setup... At the local comp last weekend i placed a 6th but only finished the rig at 2am the morning b4 then had to be up at 530am to make it to the comp.. on the first run after the 2nd gate my new nomadio rx died:ror: course2 the bad balance of the rig caused me to strugle on a gate and time out but on course3 i had it settled better.. im looking forward to comping this for the rest of the year:mrgreen:

Bit of an update!

I replaced the front delrin links with titanium...

Ive now got some Felsenfest high steering knuckles, they have more weight than the rcbros items but i wanted to try them and i like the fact i can (if i feel the need) change the arms and make my own...
To fit them it required some mods..
The alloy C's needed to be drilled

Size they need to be drilled too

Then using this...
