ive been seeing these commericals at the gym for a big sale $599 for a queen (c2) sleep number bed.
i fight alot of back pain, and lack of sleep from tossing and turning.

anyone own one? whats your thoughts?

I know youre older than 28 (me) and Id give my left test-ie for a sleep #.

I get horrible neck & shoulder pain due to the fact that I can only sleep on my side. Id love to have one.

Save your money. The worst bed we have owned. It is just an over priced air mattress. It's either to hard or to soft. When you soften it up it sags in the middle. It doesn't have chambers in it. So when you let air out the heaviest part of your body sinks the most.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!

I sleep on a 2" thick mattress, trust me, you got it better lol, also why not try those memory foam beds? are they cheaper?

I slept on the floor for almost 3 years. Carpeted, but that's it. My sleep number was 100.

Now back in a bed, I got it all figured out. Drink enough to pass out for 6 hours. "thumbsup"

memory foam beds aren't good for Active sleepers. When We bought our new bed we had a salesman who was really into educating us instead of upselling:shock: we learned a lot the solid foam beds work great for someone who doesn't move, people like me who roll and move alot can hurt them selves in these beds. you sing in and can get more or less stuck in them. We looked at the sleep # beds but couldn't afford them at the time. We worked some deals and picked up a Simmons beauty rest

We got it as a "comfort return" for $800 new. the store sold it and the PO didn't like it and it was returned after 1 day. "thumbsup" still had all the factory warranty and so on.

lay on everything and take your time, don't let the salesman tell you when to move, 30 seconds on a bed isn't enough time to decide if you like it. make sure they offer some type of return policy, nothing worse then spending the next couple of years sleeping on a uncomfortable bed and paying top dollar to boot.

BTW after buying the new bed my back pain has gone down significantly, I fall asleep within minutes and don't wakeup in the middle of the night"thumbsup"

yeah i tried one of those $2500 memory foams, my folks bought it and after a month were sick of waking up with back pain so they gave it us to use. we tried it and after a month had the same problem. in fact if you go to google streets you can actually see it sitting at the curb for the trash man lol. it was also rediculously hot.

i have such a hard time with mattresses, cronic back problems, side sleeper and a very active tosser and turner im just trying to find a solution. so far all ive heard is negative. maybe i should just let the sale pass me buy.

I have a memory foam topper on my bed. I slipped a disc when I was about 20 years old and have had horrible lower back issues since, almost all stemming from sleeping. I got a 3" topper and it sleeps awesome, plus it was pretty cheap compared to a full bed. Put a cotton cover over the foam and it breathes just fine. Certainly better than the air bladder beds with the plastic inside, at the least.

I have a queen sleep number and I would not recommend them. The side bolsters break down fast. If you and you wife are more than 15 apart, someone is rolling downhill.

I have one and I love mine. With a sleep number, it's either a love it or hate it deal from what I've gathered. Mine is a queen dual chamber model with a pillow (foam) top. My number started out at 45, and I've since moved it up to about a 50-55. Go to a sleep number store and test out a few different models and see if any of them feel comfortable to you. I'd slept in a couple of different ones prior, so I already knew I liked them. I also opted for the 2 different mattress topper things they had. One is a protective cover for the mattress itself and the other is supposedly to wick heat away from you. I got those for 2 reasons. One being that no matter how I try, I get too hot at night and sweat like mad. Secondly, the protective cover has a guarantee that if the mattress ever gets stained while that cover is on they replace it for free, no questions asked. I now don't have to worry about sweat stains lol

don't own one but almost bought one till my friend told me it sucked that every time her and her hubby wanted some action they would have to make each side the same # and the center divider always got in the way/ was uncomfortable. If you are single and don't get any action it's great:lmao:

my wife can never find out about this! it would probably keep me from groping on her so much during the night...

other than that, pretty useful thread so far. I'll be shopping for a new bed sometime soon as well.

Ive tried this method many times. Usually only lasts for four to six hours. I toss and turn for the last couple and am sore as shite in the am from passing out in an akward position. Plus I feel like overall shite the next morn...

Tried a sleep number, I'd rather sleep on a stack of bricks.

We bought one of those tempur-pedics beds last summer. I don't mind it, my back pain got better, but didn't go away. You pretty much need the extra liner and two sheets on them so they don't get to hot. Need a spare bed to get busy on though.. they are garbage for that :D
