I went through this with saydee before.
Not sure if you knew this but i too was doing this truck but saydee beat me to the punch. Natalie morgan had done a full tube version of this for me which i never finished and ending up selling.

As a 1.9 flat irons look to be the closest. I know RC4WD has ones like them also which are now better compounds.
there is an RC4WD rim in 1.9 that is similar. It has more holes. But you can paint the incerts green.

Im on my phone typing this so its difficult for me to give you the names.

Thanks for the insight. i guess I'll start looking there. A full tube version would've been sick. But you're on to bigger and better things with that TeenyCar build.

EDIT: I think yo ure talking about the Rock Crusher 2. And probably the OEM steelie, but it's an 8 spoke instead of a six, but at $50 for a set of 4, they're a good value

Small update, Bbig change of plans. But sorry, no pics.

Just when i decide to really start detting a move on this build and this happens.

The Summit transmission does NOT fit when used with Jason's mount. Facing forward, the motor hits the dash/steering wheel. Placed backwards, it hits the cross bar and radio boxes. So here are my options.

1) Pilfer my stock SCX trans, and give my SCX the 2 speed.
*Pros*
- I could actually steal an all metal geared one from my Eclipse.
- I have a 7 turn or 10 turn puller I could use
*Cons*
- It won't be a dope ass 2 speed.

2) Pray that the Dinky "cradle" comes out sooner than later and try again.
*Pros*
- It'll be a dope ass 2 speed (well, based of the proto pics, it should fit.
*Cons*
- It'ls low hung design will destroy the scale profile of the truck.
- Who knows how long it'll be before the cradle comes out?

For fun's sake, I think I'll do option 1 and enjoy ipping the 2 speed around in my mostly stock SCX. And "when" the Dinky cradle comes out, try option 2.

Between those two, I'd go with the TSLs for the performance, but Rok Lox if the appearance is more important. Another option that would also closely match the 1:1 is to use some Flat Irons and round off the overly sharp corners of the lugs. Like such...

I used 2.2 flat irons with custom foams to make them taller and skinner.

They looked OK but Spookie are the perfect size on the body and chassis.

Just don't crawl as well as I hoped.

Pics would help. I was kinda tired when I was working on it and probably didn't have the mount utilized correctly. The tranny cleared fine actually, but the motor was too high. I'll try again later.

And maybe i can get a skin made for the flames?

Thanks! No, actually I used a flapper wheel on my angle grinder. Let me know if you're unfamiliar with it. The results are much more consistent and goes a WHOLE lot faster than using a Dremel. I think it took me about 5 minutes to do all 4 tires. After the tires get some wear, they look even more realistic, IMO. The earlier pic was right after I'd modded them. Here's one after some use. They end up very closely resembling BFG Krawlers and in the G8 compound would be great performers!

They look really good right there. The only thing is that the Flat irons look a little small overall. But once I get the motor/tranny fitment situated, i may have to try that out. since i alraedy have some flat irons laying around.

I have the same setup...Traxxas ESC/Motor with summit trany...If you end up
using it, let us know how it works, seems like the motor might cog easy, mega
easy to turn the rotor with my fingers....I wana put it in my KOH build.

Yeah I noticed how freely the motor spins as well. When I was sourcing parts for the build, Jason said he ran this setup in his Honcho, and after watching his once video, I decides to try it out. Unfortunately the VXL lotor is hitting the dashboard when I try to mount the tube top. Sayers said it fits fine, but I dunno what mogle he was running.

Finally. Some pictures.

So I figured out the transmission/motor issue.

It was a combonation of things. First, I had fumbled on the spacer and had it upside-down. Thus it was too high. Second, I had a the biggest pinion I found because The lower gear ratio in the Summit trans is 70:1, and I thought that seemed way too low, and second is 25:1, and I wanted this thing to be FAST. By doing this, it rotated the motor out too far to the driver's side. and raised at the same time, causing it to hit the shock hoop and making causing it misalign the whole assembly even more.

Now with the mount in the right orientation, and a smaller pinion. It looks like an interior is out of the question, but things cleared.

Almost. When i eyeballed the alignment from below, I noticed it was still cocked a little. If you notice in the very first picture, the VXL motor cap looks like it's touching VP shock hoop. It look that way because it is.

Apparently, front VP shock hoop, is not quite the same as the plastic ones, When viewed from the side, it leans the front shock mounts rearward, abd it look like it moved the posdy post as well. I difference is small enough not to really noticed until compared while in our hands.

Here are some pics of it with VP shock hoop removed.

With the motor's end cap/cover removed, it just barely touches the VP hoop, but the end cap is so snazzy looking8) I may try contacting VP to see if this purposely designed this way, or it it's a bad batch. If not I will probably reusse the [lastic ones unitl a suitable replacemet is located.

This is where I stopped for the day. the shocks are really long, but it sags anough to get a decently low ride height. I have to play with the link lengths more to fix the pinion angle iin the rear. I have the shock mounted upside down for a better shock angle.

I recently did a build for eric113 and I ended getting rid of the spacer all together. If you bend the mount just past the holes a little. It will sit right down on the trans mount and lowers the whole trans almost 1/2".

Those look sharp, but I can't find that build. I stil think I stuck between the OEM's and the Slamerz. I like the single beadlock on the OEM's and it keep the rim looking big, but I've read mounting is a b!tch. The Slamerz look great, but I don't like ALL the beadlock screws and thick ring, Ehh, I got time to decide.I

Ingenious. About how many degrees did you bend it? Do you have a few more pics of it?

I was thinking of trying to run the smallest 32p spur & pinion I can. That should move the motot closer to the center line and help the motor clear the shock hoop with the cap installed.

Its all good, The full tube chassis I had that Natalie did for me. Its all sold now. But maybe one day I will have someone do it up for me again.

Thanks I appreciate the offer. May I say, Damn. That thing would've turned out SICK! Look at all that detailed tube work. I love how it has the rear shock hoops. Functional or not, that's one thing this Pirate is missing. What a shame that you gave it up, so I'll trade you this for the Teenycar :lmao:

Hell NO! I love the Teenycar. Jerry did an awsome job pulling that one down. His is an IFS just like mine only with the Summit tranny in his.
