You can have the Best DSLR out there but if you cant edit or dont know how to use the camera then it doesnt matter, It all comes down to editing and learning the setting on the camera.

So I just talked to mike (helihover) and he is coming back to crawling. He is buying a Honcho RTR and will be hitting the rocks soon.

It's fun watching the kid RC crawling. It makes me think of when I was a kid and how much fun it was as a kid.:mrgreen:

We're all just grown up kids, they were my excuse for getting back into R/C! Bring 'em let 'em have a ball!

Yeah the biggest problem is that I have 3 rigs...so I don't get to drive.

That is until they want to run around and climb on rocks...then I am stuck trying to drive 3 rigs! :shock:

Hopefully my daughter will stick to driving and then I can carry one rig. If FarmerTed's offspring is there she probably will.

Summary:
The Micro Light Controller has 16 LED Channels (2x as the mini light controller) that simulate functions of lights on a Rock Crawler. Thses units come pre-programmed with many of the most popular functions.




Hookup and Calibration:
The Rock Crawler version of the Micro Light Controller plugs into your truck's receiver in Channel 1 and 2, then your ESC and Steering Servo plug into the unit.
The unit needs to have your Neutral Steering and ESC positions and the respective direction of each channel. This is done by turning on your TX and your RX and Micro Lights. Next, while leaving the TX set to your truck's settings and in all neutral positions, press the calibrate button once. Then steer right and give full forward throttle for a couple seconds. Now your unit is calibrated. MORE DETAILS ON OUT YOUTUBE VIDEO BELOW.


LED Functions:
Driving - Always ON, until parked for 20 seconds.
Brake - Turned ON when slowing or in neutral position. OFF when accelerating.
Reverse - Turned ON when moving in reverse.
Strobe A & B - Flash alternating like police lights.
Auxiliary Lights L/R - Manually Toggled ON and OFF by holding neutral throttle and steering left/right for 3 seconds.

Body price...I guess it depends on what you want. A Nikon D90 is going to be cheaper than a Canon 50D and the Nikon will have 720p HD video, but it uses SD/SDHC cards which are slower so if you want high frame rates then the 50D is a better choice since it uses CF. The Canon also has slightly more pixels, for people that relate pixel count to image quality. The Nikon D300S is the same price as a Canon 7D but the Canon has 5.7mp more than the D300S and the Canon also does full HD 1080p video where the D300S still only does 720p.

Now there's the Canon 60D. It's cheaper than the 50D and more in line with the D90, likely because it doesn't have the magnesium alloy body and uses SD/SDHC/SDXC instead of CF (so the frame rates are lower, in line with the D90), but it does full HD 1080p video, however it loses the LCD display on the top of the body for easily checking/setting settings.

Whatever route someone takes, they need to be prepared to stick with it. Bodies come and go, but lenses are forever.

Both make great cameras, best thing to do it visit a local store and play with them, see which feels more natural in your hand, which you find easier to navigate and adjust, and then go with it.

For more entry-level dSLRs they both have them, Canon has the Rebel series (x00D) and Nikon has the Dxx00 series. Keep in mind that the entry-level Nikon dSLRs can only use AF-S lenses so your choice of lenses is somewhat limited. The Canon Rebel bodies can use Canon EF and EF-S lenses.

Yes ChiLoc Is a Picture Whore.... So you remember my video I took at the Rainbow trail the first time.... HAHA I finally edited it and stuff I am uploading it on youtube now as soon as I am done Ill post a link there are to videos.....
