I have pre-ordered one for the second batch, but I dunno if i want to use it on this. I think it'll change the side profile too much. BUT, it would definitely help out alot with the COG and driveshaft angles.
Well, work was slow so i decided to make another shake down run. 15 mins in and the steering seemed like it wasn't working well, and I was in 3 wheel drive.
First off, one of my front uppers lost a nut, and the servo basically pushed the whole axle left to right instead of steering the wheels.
Secondly, I broke a pin on one of the 3 Racing cvd's. Upon further inspection, I forgot to reinstall the outer bearing that goes in the C when i was installing the aluminum C's I had picked up. therefore the cvfd wasn't supported near the ball. Reinstalled the bearing (stil shaking my head at that one) and went back to the dogbones until i get some new pins.
Otherwise, this thing is an absolute BLAST to drive. The stiffer springs helped it track true, and launching off some ramps resulted in nice even keeled landings. The 54/16 gearing really makes this thing move. Low fear still feels pretty quick, but high gear absolutely hauls ass. This thing wheelied so hard it ended up on it's roof more that once. I was a little concerned with overheating the motor with all the weight it's pushing around, but after all of that, the IR read only 97*.
Unfortunately, I did not have my tripod, so I didn't attempt to take any video. I really need to get this thing out onto some trails someplace. Maybe this weekend.

Small update.
Steerig wheel came in a week or two ago and i got that painted and installed. I still need to re-fab my seat bracket as the one I made originally wasn't rigid enough.
Secondly, my LED kit from KC Jones came in. Super simple and the PCB is really quite tiny. i was thinking i could run it of the rx, since the servo/bec is powered directly of the battery. Am i correct in thinking that? Anyhow, I pucked up a switch assortment from Radio Shack, and imay just wire the LED kit directly to a rx pack, and use one of the switches to turn it on/off.
Lastly, the Mini DVR came in. It was pretty cheap ($20 + shipping), is really compact, and does audio. It comes with an assortment of brackets to mount it in varying ways. They only draw back if any, is that it only shoots at 30 fpsm and you will have to provide your own Micro SD card.
I have no prior experience with "video" other than that shot by my point & shott, so I'm not sure if this really has teh resolution or clarity necessary to provide good (or decent) "in car" vid, but for the money it's worth a shot. It does support AVI format though.

None yet. been busy with the FOFF build and life in general. Hopeflly things clear up soon and i can get the long awaited video.
