Wow, bow fishing looks fun. I never knew how serious it was until I found this thread and started doing research. Now I'm interested! I think I may have to pick up a bow off the intarwebs and give this a shot. My dad used to work at a gravel pit after he retired from the Sheriff's dept and we would go fishing in the dredged lakes and I would always see guys catching big ass carp. That'll be the first place I go  There's also tons of gators in there.

heck man, your only 3 hrs from me... I'm a staff shooter for several of the big bowfishing supply companies and have several rigged bows ready to go. Come up and shoot with me sometime and I can put you on some monsters... My cousin lives in Hattisburg

That sounds rad man, I would love to! It looks incredibly fun by all of the youtube videos I've watched.

I haven't been out but once since spring hit. We have just been getting hit hard by rain and the water is so murky we can't see anything in the water. There are some levees down at the conservation area that could be good shooting, so I will have to try there next.

from today...

They couldn't shoot cat for the tournament, I think it may be illegal in my state to use a bow on them.

Thats a lot of fish though. You do anything useful with it? Big fish fry or give it to a shelter?

I was iving them to the shelter until I found out the people that ran it were taking it home and having parties and fish frys...

There is about 6 different familes that I give them to. I know where it goes and get to see the smiles on the faces!

Here is one of them with a load of fish from last week... That's about 200# of fish in that trunk

That sucks to hear the people running the shelter would do that. When my buddy makes a good pull of edible fish he gives it to some families around him. Nothing better than some good and free fish! Great eating, and a nice and lean meat.

definitely cool man, you have caught a ton of fish, broken records and are helping those who need it, also i like all the fish catch updates they are making me hungry!!

bump...
