tekin sc4x 7.5 turn test now with Pro4 goodness

Motors rated at 3000kv, so I bought one and installed with mamba max proin my Wraith. Geared 12/56. Close to stock speed on 2 cell lipos without any added timing. Added 30 degrees in cheat mode and top end is more like 3 cell on stock motor.

Then for fun, I tried 4 cell, lasted 10 feet before the rear locker let go.:lmao:
Top end is scary, just don't turn other than to keep it straight and brakes are a big no no unless you like doing complete front flips in the air.

Also I had to grind a little on the link mounts and moved the transmission foward a bit to fit the longer 550 can.

Tekin RX8 and SC4X 4.5 turn

I love the tekin. No cogging at any speed. A ton of torque. Geared 58\15( 32 pitch). No timing! Advancing the timing will reduce low end torque. Which means no crawling. However, I run with drag brake off. Which makes crawling suck. Nothing to hold the truck. But, 9 outa 10 times driving, I got it in loose dirt. So fun! I have the 36\14 R&P gears still to put in. Should get a little bit more speed out of it. But, I'm gonna loose a little low end torque. I prefer to see rooster tails anyway. Just trying my best to make it ALL TERRAIN! So Far so good. I love this truck. If there was fire and I could only take one item. It would be my Wraith!:ror:

With the MMP, the sensored timing can be set to advance at whatever rpm. So no loss in low end but you gain top end. And to get the timimg to advance going foward required flipping the ring gears in the axles to reverse direction.

New to R@P Diff's. Flip what and it does what? Looking for as much speed as possible with current setup. Wish there was way to have A,B switch for drag brake on and off? Any Idea's?

Simply removing ring gear and flipping so it's on the othe side of the pinions. This reverses the direction of the axles.

Full weekend of camping and flogging. Does some crazy flips and twist jumping logs.:lmao: had to really crank down the slipper as hard braking and reverses totally unscrewed the nut a few times.

And it clears the old traxxas rod ends, but the newer larger ones off a Jato I believe will rub a bit on the motor can. Maybe space the trans up a hair?

On 2s lipo, it crawls better than a stock motor on 2s. Have a 11tooth pinion to try sometime also and may bump up to 58tooth spur if it fits. Doesn't crawl quite like a comp rig, but I think perfect for a multi-use scaler.

Also stipped out front driveline today. The tangs? that are keyed into the cvd part stay with the cvd and the screw backed out. All four stock wheels stripped out.

I put one of these in a stock Axial TR with a Mamba Max Pro a few days ago. I dialed in about 30 degrees of timing at 15,000 rpm. On 3s it crawls pretty nice, has a great drag brake, will pull the front tires 20 or 30 feet from a rolling start, and has a top speed of around 25. I was jumping 5 foot gaps down at Spring Park last Sunday. I'm excited to do some more testing for a new class 3 build this winter.

Haven't tracked down a 58t spur to test yet. 11t fits fine though with the 56t.

I was wanting a tekin 4 pole 540, but not available just yet. That and the lowest pro4 motor is 3300kv vs 3000 for the 7.5t 550.

2 pole 550 vs 4 pole 540 sounds like close power wise but in a shorter can. I'd imagine the 4 pole being smoother.
Just ordered one to see along with a 58t spur.

The new Pro 4 is a 4 pole 540 can motor. 1.4" diameter and 2.1" long. Can is basically a smaller version of the T8. I've been reading up and Tekin doesn't recommend running it with the RS Pro because it draws so many amps. They recommend the RX8. From what I've read, it will destroy parts in your rig that normal motors won't. I'm in!
