WHY CONUS shipping only ?

The problem I have come across a couple times, is I sell my items priced to ship, and the international buyers want me to sell it for the same price, or they offer a little extra, just for me to find out it's going to cost $60 to ship it instead of 15. I've reversed a couple of sales because the shipping was too high and the buyer didn't want to pay the differnce:cry:

I've bought lots from you guys in the states, ive never had a problem paying any extra costs and even paid extra after it was posted to cover... Everyone I've delt with has been great including vendors!

If all you guys stopped shipping outside US then for us the hobby would die off.. So for those of you who take the time for guys like me, Thankyou!!

On the point of tracking there are times I have tracked to my door...

Cheers
Dan

I got no problem shipping to Hawaii or Alaska. But no international for me. The last package I sent to canada, according to the post office, is still in jamaica, ny. Package was sent out three months ago. Now, I know it arrived because the buyer sent me an email saying he got it. But he could have very easily said it never got there. I also shipped a package to Chile once. It took over 45 days to get there. If I sell something, the money made sits in Paypal until I get a notification from the buyer saying they received the item. If I make money selling rc stuff, I wanna spend it. Not have it sit for 45 days. Besides, customs forms are a pain in the ass to fill out.

It is very stressful shipping overseas. I have done it a few times. I love helping people out but the system sucks. If there was a better way to track the package then more people would ship overseas.

Thanks for ll the replies guys.. I really thought it was as simple as using a prepaid box from USPS and writing the address on it.
I understand but I'm still sad that all the deals are in the USA. And even when our dollar is now on par we still pay atleast 30% more for our hobby stuff.

The only way I ship international is if it's UPS or Fedex where I can get full tracking the whole way. It costs more no matter what and unless the seller seems cool to being with and is willing to pay then I won't.

I don't want to deal with the extra paperwork and BS to ship international if it's not worth my while. I have only done it once on here and that's because the guys was super cool and paid the extra shipping. If someone wants to try and negotiate the price and ship international I won't do it, not worth it for me. This goes back to my whole feeling that I am not a store or retailer so I don't really have to please everyone just to sell my stuff.

I'm looking at sending my berg to scottland,so fed-ex or ups is best,or both fairly equal on price and security?

I think it just depends on where your shipping. DHL is good for international too. I mainly use them to have tracking the whole way. "thumbsup"

I will never get anything shipped from the US to Canada by UPS. They double charge. They charge the shipper and then they charge me when I get it.

Example... I ordered a $225 part. Paid $25 for UPS shipping. Package arrived and UPS wants another $70 before they give me the package. Absolute rape! Yet if your shipping within the US, I see free shipping advertised everywhere. Holy **** I hate UPS! Its like I'm paying for your free shipping.

USPS or nothing. I could not afford to be in this hobby if I could not get parts shipped up here by USPS. The LHS is outrageously over priced. Almost double US prices.

I don't give a shit about tracking numbers I trust the mail system. Hundreds of orders and never have I not got one. Its about being a smart consumer. Buy from reputable sources.

shipping to cananda is not a big deal but since ive opened my paypal i have had over 700 transactions, the only two times i got screwed and had to refund the buyer because they did not recieve the package was when something went overseas, i never saw these items agian and shipping insurance covered neither, lost over $500 between the two.

Thats my reason.

although like shane says sometimes i still will do just nothing over $100 and besides its very expensive to some places.

All my ads read "price includes shipping to the lower 48." But I will ship anywhere if the buyer is willing to pay the difference between domestic and international price. I have shipped several items overseas lately and have not had one problem. Sure, I've had some items take a while to make it to the Aussies, but other than that, not one issue. Plus all the guys that I have dealt with have been super cool and easy to work with.

For you guys complaining about shipping, you do realize that you can print the shipping label and pay for shipping right from Paypal, don't you? Then you have no need to go to the post office. You can do this as long as they don't send the payment as a gift, which is another reason I won't except payments as gifts anymore. Its a pain in the rear for me to make it to the post office during working hours.

Yep. All the courier companies (UPS, FedEx, etc.) charge a brokerage fee. Shipping via USPS to Canada will incur, at most, a $5 brokerage fee. I've very rarely been charged this though.

It's been said on here before, but if you're wondering why a Canuck refuses to accept a package shipped any other way than USPS, that's likely the reason why, not that we're trying to screw you over in some way

That's what I find with a lot of folks. If I offer to cover the difference plus a few more bucks for their time/paypal fees, they're pretty good to work with.

i charge 10 bucks more for shipping to Canada, it cost me 20 but i should not make the buyer pay all of it. anything past that , once i get the quote i pm it to the person and see if they still want it. having to spend 5 minutes filling out a form or 2 doesn't cramp my style

I have been setting here pondering this statement, and I cant for the life of me figure out how I'm gonna ship without going to the post office, labels or no labels?

You can print labels from paypal or USPS.com and it saves you a trip to the post office. You can also do this for international shipments, but I don't trust it. The Post Office international prices are never the same as the online prices, so that is why I ship internationally from the PO only.

I still dont get how it saves a trip? I have shipping labels here already,I still have to go to the po to mail it though.
