Don's 2012 Sporty - BWD AX-10 Wedge Low Pro with NEW Proto Steering - More Pics!!!

agreed but as stated, the roof easily exceeds the 1" from where the hood intersects the cab to the top of the roof. Hadn't even seen the rig that RR posted but that A pillar looks no taller, yet the top of the roof in that pic is also easily over 1" above where the hood intersects the cab.

I always assumed the measurement for that was done at the intersection (A pillar) and did not consider the overall roof height. Though its not like I've never been wrong before...:ror:

Sorry for derailing your thread Don...it wasn't my intention to turn this into a rules discussion

Yup, mine either. "thumbsup"

I agree with your assesment. Going off of how the overall chassis height is measured, I would think this is a more accurate way of measuring it.

This is how I've always wanted to interpret the rule, but I'd always done it the way Duuuuuuuude's picture shows. This way would make things much easier for me in the future.

It wouldn't make sense if a number of measurements were taken one way and this was taken in a unique way.

Mr. Holmes (www.holmeshobbies.com) is the man FYI. I contacted him on Friday urgently needing a 16t Crawlmaster for this bad boy and he got it to me before noon today. It's almost alive

That's how I saw it Shelby, but we shall see what is said. As I stated tho, I don't think mine is the first chassis to have an A pillar shorter than 1".

Awesome work as always.

The rules are so vague. If one tech flags it, just ask another and he'll pass it. hahaha

The Motor Sav'r is slick! I kept thinking MOA when I first saw those, but they're also perfect in this application.

I agree and thats why I think the pic I posted is more in line with how we measure bodiless chassis' overall height.

Very cool that Mr. Holmes got you hooked up in time for CP! I really tried hard to make it, I am bummed that I don't get to comp my sporty against this sick rig.

How about some more tech, what is your belly at ride height and full droop?

Bad news, I think. This very scenario was brought up on the rules forum here:

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/rules/302692-need-clarification-two-measurments.html

The sketch in post #1 seems to be the same. The "official" answer in post #11 was that the front of the roof had to be 1" min.

"Sorry I missed this, Measurement B has to be 1 inch min. to be legal"

Hope I interpreted that wrong -- it's a great looking design.

I was thinking the same thing, I bought two for the MOA but forgot all about the Sporty.

These cabs are being redesigned due to the clarification in the rules regarding windshield height. I am also doing one for the Axial Wedge. "thumbsup"
