I'm trying to recover some old photos off of an old corrupted hard drive, anyone know of a good free data recovery software?

I had one i used that i got from a Maximum pc disk. I can't remember the name though. I will have to check when i get home. Also you can checkout pcworld.com for software too.

Data recovery and free? Not something I would use...usually you get one shot.
Whats wrong with the current disk? Is it dead, or what? Might be some other tips to get your data from it if I knew what was wrong with it.

Tried this one but it it was not able to find all my pictures, not even 1/16th of them. And when I recovered the few photos it found many of them are screwed up, like parts of the picture is cut off, not Sure if the files are infected or something.

recova was the one I used to recover a bunch of movies, it worked, but yeah a bunch of stuff was messed up. Figured it was due to putting other stuff on the drive, defragiing and what not.
