See the new Subaru BRZ?

It will drool oil everywhere

Have you by chance tried or just talking?

Ever changed a top load filter? It's easier as all the oil drains back down once you crack the o-ring seal. Crack seal, wait a few, pull of filter nearly no mess, definitely less than conventional bottom hung filters with oil above it.

My toyota truck had that setup, I liked it a lot. Super easy to change.

I love my Suby... "thumbsup" and Im liking the new look but without the Turbo and AWD Ill keep my BlobEye.

Looks like a Hyundai Tiburon and a Nissan 350z had sex and the BRZ came out.
And something about that rear fender area looks odd to me. But those are just my thoughts.
Engine looks cool.

I'm a bit confused...this car will also be badges a Scion(FR-S). I was unaware that Toyota and Subaru were under the same tent...?

Toyota bought much of the shares of Subaru (Fuji Motors) when GM sold them. They don't own all of Subaru, but like 19%. In turn they wanted to work together...

3 Cars all with the same look really.

It will drool oil everywhere as soon as you crack open the filter seal as it unscrews. Several well placed rags before removal help.

Negative, there is a small little drain on the bottom of the housing with a rubber plug. All you do is, crack the filter, remove plug, place cup or something similar (I use to use empty BG oil additive can) and the used oil drains right out mess free. In all my years at the dealer, changing on oil on the 4.0s was by far the easiest because of this style.

Nice Scooby! Where did you get the WRX front plate delete from? and what did your car put down?

Also, if I am not mistaken, I had heard a rumor that Subaru also developed much of the battery technology that Toyota uses in there Hybrid. Not 100% on that, it is what I heard when I was at the dealers through the grape vine.

How on earth is a rotary anything like a Boxer engine...

Rotary = 0 pistons
Boxer = 2-8 pistons.

position of the oil filter is what I was commenting about. I guess I will start to highlight any text I am quoting as not to confuse anyone. I do more than look at pretty pictures.

when I got my truck I thought oil would get everywhere when I changed it... After the first oil change I am convinced that is how they all should be. Cleanest oil change I ever did.

Thanks for the compliment, its been a lot of work. Im actually going to be selling it shortly. It has 86k miles and a lot of mods and Im selling for 9k with everything or 8500 without the system in it. Just need to get rid of it and get a truck and Im sick of people trying to come joyride it.

It put down 312 Wheel Horse Power and an estimated 370 at the crank.
18.5 psi
Evo III 16g turbo
Prodrive EBC.... and many other parts. ProTuned using COBB ProTuner
