Thanks. I really don't remember it being a problem, but could see it becoming one. Thanks DISTURBIN' tha PEACE... I'll put you down for one.
As for line attachment on the first run winches... you're right, that was a bit sub-standard I'll admit. At the time, I wasn't quite sure what to do. I did finally decide on something a little better, which I hope works out for people. The new drums have a grove on one end that you run the line through, and then anchor with a set screw that threads in the end of the drum.
This isn't the best pic, but it kind of shows what I'm talking about...
Nice addition to the drum I was wondering how people had been attaching the winch lines...Still waiting on parts to arrive to finish the build so ya got some time.. I have to be done for ttc voting by the end of next month so it looks like its time to drain my pay pal...
pm sent on new drum support to bolt the fairlead to the winch.
"thumbsup"
The new drum support works perfectly and holds the fairlead nice and tight. The set screw on the drum is a great addition to an already perfect winch. I have 30 feet of line on my winch and probably won't ever have to test out the set screw, but it's nice to know its there (just make sure you put the tiny Allen wrench you get with the spool in a safe place). I already lost mine and spent the better part of a morning trying to locate one at a tool store. Nice job on the improvements Neal, every comp I go to people are oohing and aahing about this winch.
I'm dying to get my drum support too. These winches amaze me

I think my number should be coming up soon?
Me too.

Thank you... "thumbsup"
I'm working on 'em... but running about 3 weeks behind where I wanted to be.
That being said... I posted this in the other thread...
I will put a few people, on a really really need one alternate list. So that if a couple people back out and don't give their spot to someone, I can send you theirs.
I would imagine this may only happen a couple times, so if you or somebody else already on the list would like the opportunity to "move up" please only ask if you are ready for a winch, and in need of one soon for a major event or something. I really don't want to get swamped with requests.
And to anyone concerned... this will not change your place in line.
Neil,
Any update on me???
You're about 40 winches out... by the time I get done putting together the winches with the 25 servos that are at the hobby shop waiting for me right now, you'll only be about 5 winches out.
Good chance I'll get to you next month.
Thank you... "thumbsup"
