i usually go to cliffs 2 or 3 times a summer, last summer i didnt go at all since my wheeling buddy had to sell his jeep to make room for a family.

there are 2 ways to get into the park, the creek/river and the big giant hill. its safe to say the river way in is out for everybody but my samurai, and the big hill has to be dry or else its a muddy rutted out mess. once you get up that hill you could drive around quite a bit with a stocker rig.

i kinda think the 20 bucks per rc driver is a little steep... but then again its not my park. maybe once they get an understanding of what we're doing they will ease up on that... hopefully my 20 bucks covers my 1:1 as well.

I thought it was steep also but he did state it was a drivers fee, RC or 1:1. Pay for one and do both. He also is sealing a section for us so other drivers aren't in our way, so that may justify the charge, we can talk to him on Saturday. Trey and I are leaving Fry's on 355 at about 7:30.

im planning on being there but im not bring my 1:1. to far for my old junk. not going to leave my out of the fun is it?

There will be a lot of us without 1:1's. Most of us in fact. There will still be plenty of fun"thumbsup"

I heard a rumor that Jason is going to give offroad adventure rides in the samurai for $10... that's just a rumor though.

Ok 2 different conversations. This Sunday, 5/20, a couple of us are going to the cliffs scouting.

The event is still 6/2 (Saturday) and 6/3 (Sunday).

anyone look into camp sites near by? We need to get on that asap since it's all first come first serve.

Also, if we camp near by and have to drive to the park... how the hell do we get in, or where do we leave cars? Is that hill the only way in for us Jason?
I'm not crazy about driving my WRX through ruts!

I think I'm ordering a tent today, looking at these:
1. Hybrid CE < Backpacking Tents < Tents | ALPS Mountaineering

2. Aztec < Backpacking Tents < Tents | ALPS Mountaineering

I think I'm going with the Hybrid CE 3 because of the 6 tie down points.
I was thinking the Aztec because of the vertical walls for space but I bet the floor lifts up between the poles... I don't like that.

I think we can get that all answered Sunday. Thos of us in hotels have it a little rougher, I think an Econolodge and a Holiday Inn Express are our only choices,.

you guys may beat me down there. i'm 50/50 on whether or not i want to flat tow the zuk down. depends on how early i can get up sunday morning and if its raining.

last time i flat towed it down to the cliffs it was raining and i started to jack knife at about 50mph on a gentle curve but managed to get out of it. scared the hell out of me...

Nice! So starved rock has a couple campsites available still. Their website says no alcohol allowed. I'm going to dig around and see what else is in the area. How many people are actually camping? Me, DL +1, Johnny, Taco...anyone else? We need to figure out the number of campers because the sites usually have limits per site. Just curious if we need more than 1 or 2.
