So Im sure most are aware of the talk about how sexual orientation now is the determining factor in whether or not you eat poultry (a.k.a the news about Chick-Fil-A). What I didnt know until just a few minutes ago is that today is now apparently 'support straight people & chicken day'?

My fiance said the line at the local CFA is pouring out into the street.

Yeah I live in an ultra conservative town.

I think it was more about supporting Free Speech, Traditional Marriage, and standing up to those on the Left who attack anyone who dares to stand up to them and their PC agenda! The founder of CFA is entitled to his opinions just as much as those who disagree with him.

We were in line for 30-45 minutes. The place was absolutely mobbed! Line was out the door, drive through was backed into the street and into the mall parking lot. Everyone was patient, courteous, and friendly during the wait.

Drove by another location on the way home and it too was absolutely packed to the rafters! From the looks of it, I would say CFA has a lot of support. "thumbsup"

How about supporting the right to Free Speech?
Personally, I have never been treated as well at any other fast food joint as I have at CFA. They always offer to refill your drink and offer to get you more ketchup or whatever. Not too mention how often there are face painters or people doing balloon animals all free to the customer.

Beat me to it Dez

Just a troll clinging to my God and my guns Big Daddy.

It's funny, I keep hearing these hateful LGBT bigots speak of intollorence, IMO they need to look in the mirror.

The founder of CFA simply expressed his opinion after being asked a question and because it didn't toe the line with the PC agenda, he and his company are attacked!

Seems pretty intollorant to me.

Had chickfila for breakfast this morning. Had no idea any of this was going on till a coworker checked his Facebook and someone had a picture up with the line out the door and around the building. People are crazy for waiting that long.

I dont understand what all the fuss is about, didnt CFA appollogize for the misunderstanding pretty much right after it made press?

The  was aimed more at buying into the whole corp/media thing (by actually going).

What did he have to apologize for?

Thats really irrelevant at this point. They were the bigger man and apologized for whatever was said. That shouldve been the end of it.

Im all for free speech but going to buy fast food for a "cause" doesnt seem like much of a cause at all.

this chick-fil-a thing is a matter of free speech on the part of the head of CFA, nothing more, nothing less. if he has the opinion not to serve homosexual people, that's his opinion. this issue is of particular concern to me, but i can choose to go somewhere else, i'm not tethered to CFA in any way, shape, or form. the whole issue has gotten blown up by the extremist homosexual community, as are a lot of things. the freedom of speech is something that should be valued and not persecuted. sure i can say that the use of the word gay on the board bugs me a little, but in the end, i can't really in good conscience chew someone out for it (one exception being pedophilia and gay mixed together.....that one fires me up).

this is america, if there is someone that is being a massive ass, you really just have to let them be (i've learned that the hard way recently). even on this board, i find it hard not to strike back against some comments...pick and choose your battles. in fact on this matter, i've basically come out to the board, i'm bi-sexual, i have nothing wrong with that, i'm not going to go waving it around as a pride flag and bitching about comments that make me irritated...in the end, it all comes down to the freedom of speech, and that is something i firmly believe in. the protests from every angle for or against are all getting a bit irritating in fact...if i hadn't known about CFA's policy and came up to a line of protesters, i'd be pissed.

Funny.

People will wait in line for hours on a 100* day to put food in their face but they won't take a few minutes to write or call their representatives.

Because stuffing one's face doesn't require literacy, the other does...

All this does is divide, nothing more. All stirred up by media and the only gains to be made are by corperations, regardless the agenda. Meanwhile the public is left to fight.

I wouldnt be suprised if someone (FF industry) takes a stand on homoseuals now.
