Highlucks - Team BWD - The Thing

1/8" lowers and 3mm threaded ends  Looking forward to meeting you at Nats "thumbsup"

Hey guys I am not really one for shock tech, but after finding a leaker on the week end and nationals coming up I thought this would be a good time for a going over. What would you suggest as a happy starting point for my rig.

Shocks are big bores 2660's with rod mod
Mini T Reds on the front with Orange on the rear.
Weight is currently around 4.3lb

Thanks Ryan,

4mm Ti with RPM revo ends"thumbsup"

I dont think 3mm could hold up to my abuse

That's what I was thinking, but the more I looked at them the more they looked skinnier than the 3/16" lowers that I'm used to seeing for lowers. 8)

You been at weight watchers since our Nationals bud?. I dont recall you being ubder 2 kg at our Nats.

Try switching your springs for silver mini-T's up front & MRC silvers out back. I ran 35wt all the way around in my Big Bores & that felt like a good middle of the road kinda spot.

I suggest bringing your spring assortment with you to the rock. Anytime I'm tuning...I spend more time wrenching than driving but it's better than fighting the rig.

As far as leaks...I always use teflon tape on all of the threads & pack a little grease around the O-rings. I have a set of aluminum SCX shocks that are NORMALLY the leakiest turds on planet earth...but mine are dry after 30 packs or so...& nooo, it's NOT because all of the oil's leaked out already. :flipoff:

Cool thanks JD, I have access to some Mini T rears so I will give them a go and bring the lot with me I very much doubt there is a store in Australia that carries any spares for the MRC. There is just no market for them down here

Yeah but you'll be in the good ol USA in no time brutha. "thumbsup"

Maybe even try the Mini T-pinks. Being that light...you should be able to get away with a pretty soft spring.

Best of luck at Nats my man.

I wish I had some white CF around here to make you some chassis sides, cab sides, and wheels

True white would be awesome, but to my knowledge does not exist. But some CF the same as the old DNA Slingshot CFX would be killer.

Don when you are packing up for the road trip do not forget my comp legal topper.

Yeah, I've had trouble finding silver stuff that cuts as well as the black.

Topper is under control my friend...trying to pull a few other goodies together for ya as well. "thumbsup"

Thanks man,

Not too sure, I went to use the super accurate scales here at work and some one has taken off with half the power lead. I very much doubt that I am as light as the ones VP did for Jake and Austin.

New old boots. mounted and sanded. I have had this set of rovers at home for a couple of years now. I siped them when I first got them and never really like them. Perhaps the sanding will change my mind.

I did nick the back side of one with the edge of the sander though. Should be an easy fix .
