Are there Memory cards available for the XBOX 360 that would allowme to transfer information between two different machines?

Just a plain old thumb drive will do the job. It will have to be formatted for the xbox, and you can only transfer user profiles, saved games, and presets, not whole games.

Can a 360 be hacked or softmodded. I only have the nintendo wii, so I've not a clue. I softmodded the wii to where I use an external HD to load games from. This way I can download games, or, I can borrow a game, put it in the console, then it rips the game up to the external hardrive. It also allows me to play dvds, play games from any region (ntsc, pal, ect) , and few other things. I have been wanting to get a ps3 or a 360 but not knowing if it can be hacked or softmodded has kept me from purchasing .

there are cables to go to a SATA drive, cheap enough too.

as far as softmodding the 360, i haven't dug into it far enough to know the possibilities, but sure someone has done it. i know on the lauch ps3's its as simple as making an ubuntu boot disk on your computer and installing it (if sony hasn't pulled it on some update). the console will dual boot as an ubuntu pc and as a ps3.

on the originals, the softmod was easy as hell, the trick was doing the drive mirror to put a different drive in it. the original xbox is fairly capable with xbmc as a media player. i used it to stream off the unsecured school network. now that xbmc has youtube built in, its way easier than digging the code yourself to run flash via a browser.

Yes, what are you transffering? You could probably get away with using a USB flash drive.

Thanks guys! I bookmarked that link on my phone just in case. My Dad and Sister both have 360's that I play with from time to time, primarily the Forza series and would like to be able to port my player info from one machine to the other (as well as my own if I can ever afford one, even a reman isn't in the budget ATM), especially since I've gotten onto Live finally and bought one of the downloadable vehicles for Forza Horizon.

I think, and I could be wrong because I've never tried it, but you can save stuff via cloud. I would assume that you could access that cloud on any console as long as you signed in to xbox live.

I'd prefer to keep that info in something tangeable, I just don't trust this whole "cloud" business, even on something as insignificant as video game info.

if your transfering stuff from the older white xbox to the newer black xbox you could just use a transfer cable.

i think he meant from an old regualr xbox to the newer slim. the had both black and white versions of the old xbox. the newer one comes mainly in black.

You guys know anything about this? I really don't need one, but that seems like too good of a deal..

You're going to pay more for it in the long run because you have to pay full subscription price per month for xbox live gold for 2 years.
